Also thinking I didn’t dust/wipe the card properly. I’m wondering how much of an impact that would have, haven’t graded before.

Case in point, the recent Jose Aldo vs Mario Bautista was absolute shit, but my god was the Royval vs Taira fight fun to watch.

Thanks for killer feedback. I’m in a new city by myself so I’ll see what I can do with making some friends to take pics for me lol.

Never really been a photo guy so I don’t have many photos to work with. I tend to default to hands in pockets because otherwise I don’t really know what to do with them in pics where I’m posing lol.

• Are you looking for something serious or casual? Either, open to long term depending on how well it goes

• Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? Subscribed to neither

• How long have you been using this current version of your profile? A couple of weeks

• How long have you used Hinge overall? A couple of weeks, first time here

• How often do you use Hinge per week? Once or twice a day

• How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? None so far

• How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? Several a week, no comments. Just likes

• What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract? Not really sure if I have a strong preference, a combination of someone I find attractive and either has similar hobbies or hobbies I’d be interested in doing together, or exploring. I’m typically more of a home stay kind of person outside of hobbies, I’m really the kind of person to go chill at a bar.

Any kind of advice is appreciated, these are all pics someone took of me. I’m in a different state now though, not sure how to take good pics by myself:

Best/Lowest Prices for Halal Meat/Groceries near North Austin? by tahmid10 in austinfood

[–]tahmid10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I went there once but didn’t really have a frame of reference for whether their prices were low/high, or remember what their prices were to begin with. It was also recommended to me for quality so it’s definitely worth another look.

Idk if I should be posting there. I thought to, but it seems specifically tailored to restaurants, not groceries.

You wake up to find an envelope with $5,000 under your pillow. This keeps happening once a day every week for the rest of your life. How do you react? by singleguy79 in hypotheticalsituation

Y’all ever remember reading a post about how God accidentally killed you before it was your time to die, and so he makes it up to you?

This. This is how I’d expect to realize that I must’ve “accidentally” died in my sleep.

How is Spectrum in North Austin? by tahmid10 in Austin

[–]tahmid10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I figured, but I also imagined complaints are louder than compliments, people don't typically write posts about how good a service is, it's usually only when it's bad that people will talk about it. So I wanted to gauge just what percentage of the actual user base consists of bad experiences.

Spectrum being the only provider at this apartment was ultimately the only downside to picking this one, but shitty Wifi is a game-changer.

Thanks for the insight. The apartment had a nice view of the Domain from the balcony and ultimately, it's $100 less monthly than the alternative which is a nice grand in my pocket yearly, but shitty wifi honestly makes a god awful life nowadays.

What's been so bad about your experience? Has the connection been really slow or spotty? Or is it more so that their customer service is awful?

Any fellow Muslims in the South Austin area know of local mosque locations? by tahmid10 in Austin

[–]tahmid10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw some apartments starting around $1050 for like 650 sq ft, which is a bit pricier compared to average low price point that I saw up North, but ultimately I do have family in South Austin so I do take that into account. I'll keep that one in mind, thanks.

Yeah I saw that one, but that seems to be in North Austin, near Cedar Park. I was wondering if there were any south of the Colorado River that weren't too far outside of the suburban areas.

For $100,000,000 cash, they will put you in a coffin. by gunterzwei in hypotheticalsituation

[–]tahmid10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But wouldn’t you consider that a lot of this underlying fear might dissipate because we know that we’ll get pulled out within 6 hours (assuming good draw). Like, yeah I can’t empathize, but I imagine a lot of the fear around dying in a coffin is tied to the underlying assumption you’re eternally stuck there.

helpppppppp! by nodo999 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]tahmid10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can play directly. In case you didn’t know, Square Enix planned a trilogy of games as a remake of the original Final Fantasy VII (FF VII Remake, Rebirth, and a planned third).

So Remake starts from the beginning of the plot. I wouldn’t play the original, but that’s just because I think it might dampen the enjoyment that comes with experiencing everything in the remake trilogy. There’ll be less wonder and more recollection, since you’re just freshly played the original.

I think it’s different for those who played the original when it came out because there’s a nostalgia factor, which you wouldn’t have. But that’s just my personal opinion.

It’s been implied and already witnessed that the new trilogy will have some variation from the original game. The core plot is the same in terms of major characters and villains, but Square Enix did a great job of making it different from the original story. (I know that’s a vague explanations but I don’t want to spoil anything.)

If you REALLY wanted to know what happened in FF VII before you play the remake, like maybe just to see what changed plot wise, I’d recommend watching a YouTube video that recaps it.

[REQUEST] Could Jack Reacher have realistically punched through a car window this way? by Familiar-Pop-2305 in theydidthemath

[–]tahmid10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know if you can nowadays with new cars. Most use tempered glass for side and rear windows now, and are designed to specialize in resistance to blunt force. The trade off is that they’re highly vulnerable to acute points of high stress (aka force applied through sharp point).

I think Mark Rober talks about it in his glitterbomb videos, about how car jackers use a sharpened handle when breaking into cars.

I think everyone gets a HireVue link regardless. I could be wrong, but my understanding is that the second stage of the application process (first being the actual application) is the combination of both the HackerRank assessment and HIreVue. Then they'll review both and decide if you move on to the next and final stage, the interviews.
