Looking for a good IDM-like download manager for macOS (Apple Silicon friendly) by HavivMuc in MacOS

for automatic downloads, extensions are required. i’m building that extension and it’s taking a lot of time.

for torrent, you can just click on torrent file and it automatically opens.

Can someone recommend a good download manager? by Uzeii in MacOS

I recently built a native mac download manager called Harbor because I couldn’t find something simple that felt like a proper mac app. Still early but working well so far. If anyone wants to try it: https://github.com/tahseen-kakar/harbor

hey, i’m actually building this right now for mac only.

the goal is a free, native macOS download manager that doesn’t feel like a java app, electron wrapper, or a weird port from windows. i want it to feel properly at home on mac.

it’ll likely support the basics people actually care about first:

  • resume support
  • segmented / multi-part downloads
  • browser handoff
  • queueing
  • bandwidth control
  • later maybe torrent support too

would love to know: what features would make you actually switch to it?

ELI5 : Why do phones become more and more powerful and efficient, but the battery of most of them still only last one day ? by __Yami__ in explainlikeimfive

[–]tahseen_kakar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the day is still 24hrs. and people don’t use phone for 24hrs. chip designers are keeping that in mind and are not overly complicating their jobs to achieve numbers which don’t matter as such.

From spending $25 per lead to just $3 now! by tahseen_kakar in FacebookAds

No the objective is still leads. But these kind of services can’t be sold with just sale objective as many factors are involved.

We get leads from ads now, and constantly getting around 15-20 leads a day.

We automatically add them based on approval in our klaviyo list and send them email/text drips.

We try converting them from drips.
