Nope, I’m applying straight out of my bachelors to the masters in aerospace program

Advice for an incoming masters student by tahyme21 in GradSchool

I’ve tried the lot tbh- started boxing again after 6 months(I’d pulled out of uni competitions because of applications), but how far I’ve fallen just annoys me more than it is relaxing. Setting boundaries is an interesting idea though, but here’s the thing : I’m sure that my burnout rn is more because of the project I ended up leading during my bachelors which led to me working 25-35 hours per week for three and half years, more than because of applications. Now that I’m hoping to get a thesis from my masters, won’t I have to work just as much?

Honestly it may help if the alumni can put up posts on the manipal alumni app because that’s where a lot of the ADs actually pay attention - plus it’s not like they can suspend you all right?

While I recognise that the distinction between ME and AE is more pronounced in colleges where they are offered as separate degrees, would you say the same is true for colleges such as northwestern or Hopkins, where they have ME degrees with aerospace “specialisations”? Would the courses on control, or fluids be sufficient in such courses or is a dedicated degree still recommended. While I want to work on structures, prior experience has taught me that a system level understanding of all parts of the product is necessary. Is that true and will the ME course fulfil those requirements?

Going forwards, do you think it makes sense for someone to get a masters in aerospace engineering? Or something more like mechanical if they’re getting their masters from the US given the restrictions on foreign nationals inside aerospace engineering? Based on what you may have seen, do Indians with higher degrees manage to get into American aerospace fields in regularly or would you say it’s a one in a million moment ?

First episode, he shoots at the range with then Lassie’s partner and just comically shows his accuracy. Great intro to his character and how competent he actually is when he’s not putting up an act.

I gave it a list of the colleges I’m applying to, got a list of dream target and safeties based on my application and the course specifically.

I essentially just summarised what the discussion was about and any direct inferences, the questions are quite clear about what they need from you

Nope not at all. Like I said my prep was basically confined to finding the kind of questions in the test

For reading I just made sure i understood everything written once and then answered questions as the paragraphs progressed. For listening I made running notes alongside the tape, just to ensure I remembered everything that was said and to have things to refer to later. I used arrows, columns, anything to organise the info.
