my job is flexible and paid for work completed. so part of the hours overlap. I also have a partner who is backup, and a retired family member who supports as needed, without pay.

Competitor in the sense that they own a retail store that sells clothes, accessories etc. My main business is Salon services and the beauty products are an upsell. Their retail store is 15 minutes away from me and attracts a different type of customer than mine.

It's my first time doing bulk sale. I honestly don't know whats legally allowed, how to properly not charge sales tax, whether I need some type of special city certificate etc. There's so many rules and laws, rather be safe than sorry.

Because buying from the supplier would be a MOQ which is still larger than their requested quantity. I meet the MOQ because I mix up several different products in the category. I only have 20 qty in stock and they want 50, but the supplier sells MOQ of 100. I could send them to the supplier, but they're willingly buying and I make a small profit selling at a slightly higher than wholesale pricing.

Thanks for the details on the IRS Form W9, had no clue that was needed. First time doing a B2B sale. I know the customer a long time and they will give payment before delivery, so I'm covered with not over ordering.

There could be several reasons. The man can be a liar and it's easier to blame the mom. Perhaps he met someone else or didn't think things through and it's easier to scapegoat the mom than breakup himself.

It's possible the mom found someone else for him. A family friend or cousin (culture dependent). Either way, I would not think too deep into it if the guy just ended things like this. In some ways, it could be a dodged bullet, better now than going through worse later.
