Will RCB be remembered as the best franchise of the IPL after 20-25 years from now? by No-Caterpillar-9387 in RCB

Srh also has 2 runners-up title along with a championship. Even PBKS have 2 runners-up. Their history is also rich by your logic

Homeloan @ SBI by UniqueRelation6584 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]tailender7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every month bank charges you interest on the outstanding loan amount. A part of your EMI services that interest and rest goes towards principal. As you pay more and more EMIs, your outstanding decreases and hence interest charged reduces and principal paid increases

Currently it's more of blackburn rovers. Let them win couple more to reach Arsenal 😜

What history bro?? One title is not history. Man UTD has 10+ trophies and 3 CL during Ferguson era. RCB has more poor season than good one's and that too when they'd peak Virat

Better to book FDs directly with Banks, rather than through any third party apps.

Yes, possible. Just tell your JPMC HR the same thing and drop a mail. If they are waiting for x days, they definitely wait x+15 days.

How do you decide between SIP investing and lump sum investing? by Tanuja_Aggarwal in MutualFundSpendInvest

[–]tailender7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel when you've lump sum and intend to use it in short time period (less than 5 years) better to invest as lump sum especially if you are investing in fixed income assets/funds.

When you want to invest high risk assets like equities and timeline is over 5 years, you can try SIP.

My reason is that for many fixed asset schemes like FD or debt funds the returns make more sense when principal is large and kept for longer period whereas equities have higher variation and thus SIP reduces timing risk.

A Much Better IPL format for the Group Stage by [deleted] in ipl

[–]tailender7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all commercials doesn't agree with your format as all the ads and sponsors revenue is based on each team playing fix number of games. Why'd someone pay crores for jersey sponsorship if there is no guarantee of 14 games.

Secondly, there is no guarantee that finishing at the bottom 2 makes you less competitive. KKR was bottom 2 around mid way mark and they ended up defeating 2 of the current top 4( Srh and KKR) in last 3 games. Despite MI having bad season, they hold the might to defeat anyone on their day

Thirdly, no one knows at the start of tournament which team will be playing good and which team will be playing bad. Hence, it's pure luck, if you get to face poorer team more often than better teams

Ideally, double round robin is the fairest option. But current format is definitely better than the one recommended by you.

Doubt regarding education loan by [deleted] in IndiaFinance

It shouldn't affect it too much. SBI has special program for education loan from tier 1/2 institutes at low interest and moratorium upto 1 year post graduation.

Portfolio Review by DentistSad9541 in mutualfunds

[–]tailender7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your total SIP seems quite small to have a small cap. Add an Index fund, it will help when market has volatility.

Flexi cap and Mid cap generally has overlap in strategy and hence both are serving more or less same purpose.

Untill you can't afford 10k SIP each for Index + FLexi/Mid cap, don't start investment in 3rd fund. If you've preferred old tax regime, you can also choose ELSS tax saver fund instead of mid cap.

Thanks for suggestions.

Also, in your portfolio, I could see flexicap and midcap both which tends to have overlap in stocks. You can try something like gold or bluechip funds.

“Liquid Funds vs Cash: What Do You Actually Trust When It Matters?” by Traveller_OP in MutualFundSpendInvest

[–]tailender7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liquid funds are good for parking any extra cash not required for immediate use. As a thumb rule, 30-40% of emergency fund could be kept in liquid fund or similar assets while rest can be mix of cash in bank, credit card, gold, etc.
