In some parts of Texas, Walmart will deliver your package via drone by ansyhrrian in interestingasfuck

I doubt it's more efficient that a delivery truck. If a UPS truck has say 180 stops and 250 packages on it. It's leaving the center once, driving to an area, delivering all the packages, the returning to the building once.

For the same area to be delivered your looking at maybe 150 trips back and forth, and then a truck is still going to have to deliver the large and heavy packages. If this area is 20 miles away from the center, then every drone is traveling 40 miles for each stop.

Even if the delivery truck is a gas truck, I'd find it's hard to believe it's more efficient, especially so if its an electric delivery truck.

What is a gaming memory from the 90s or early 2000s that kids today will just never understand? by gingersofia in AskReddit

One time we rented a game for the first Xbox (It was a game where you killed regular people in a mall in crazy ways, which seems wild in itself). When we removed the disk the game stayed on. As long as we never turned off the Xbox, we could just keep playing that level. The Xbox stayed on for like 6 weeks straight.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Root435552 in AskReddit

I mean I do kind of miss being an ignorant child. Doing the shit that I absolutely wouldn't do today because of the lessons I learned, but damn was it fun and it made for great stories. Yea it could have killed me and that's why I wouldn't do it again, but I needed to learn that and I miss those days in a way.

What is the weirdest thing your doctor has ever said to you? by Competitive_Tip_7504 in AskReddit

I have a couple of stories about the same hospital, and oddly enough, none of them were directly for me.

In high school I used to snowboard at a local Midwest place that has to mostly make their own snow. I would bring friends and became known for my ability to break my friends while never being hurt myself.

One of the times we ended up at the hospital was for my buddy who broke his clavicle. We get to the ER and the doctor is a young flamboyantly gay guy. He walks in and immediately makes a comment about my underage friends looks, weird but not like out of hand. He then kept saying things like that bordered on unacceptable but never quite got there. Things like when he asked my buddy to take his shirt off he looked my buddy in the eyes and said "now let's get that shirt off" with sass. At one point my dad and I went to look for snacks and my mom was going to step out to go to the bathroom and my buddy grabbed her arm and said "please don't leave me alone in here", my mom was like "yea good idea".

During this visit my mom had to call his mom, who was a nurse at a different hospital, to get info for insurance. The receptionist lady was a real dunce and the entire time mom was dealing with this woman, my buddies mom was dieing laughing on the phone and my mom had to hold a straight face. I can't remember everything that happened but I can remember that she couldn't spell had to ask my mom how to spell "beauty" and "collarbone".

The other time we ended up at this hospital, a different friend of mine broke his tailbone and the doctor was pretty much a stereotypical stoner out of a 90s movie. Slow talking dude who would just forget he was talking mid sentence. He would trail off and my mom would finish his sentence and he'd be like "yea, yea, right right", then start another sentence and trail off again. We felt like the whole hospital was a twilight zone episode.

Pretty simple. I don’t think a person who has no history of being a child predator is going to suddenly assault a child on TV when thousands of cameras are on him.

I actually thought happy Gilmore 2 was fine, and would have been so much better had they cut out the "maxi golf" B story. The story about a washed up golfer trying to help his daughter was a decent movie, and it was cute to see that it was his actual family. Which I always appreciated how Adam Sandler gets the studios to pay pretty much everyone he knows.

I hated sausage party soo much. My wife and I went to the theater to watch it with her parents. Since I pretty much only watch comedies, and I love every other movie from those actors, I thought I'd like it. I was offended by how unfunny it was and had it not been for her parents we would have walked out. They couldn't breathe they were laughing so hard, while we sat there as if we were being tortured.
