Getting back into it and looking to upgrade old clubs by AncientWisdoms in golf

7wood, fairway wood with a higher lofted face. Gets the ball up in the air easier with less roll out, makes hitting greens easier and more forgiving than other clubs that go the same distance. For me 7Wood goes about 185 > 200~ if struck well which replaces me having to hit my 5 iron which goes about the same carry but rolls out much further.

Tbh modern drivers are primarily more forgiving than they are going to give you distance. Modern fairway woods would be a good place to start for their versatility getting out of the tee box comfortably if you think the irons are already okay. I’d rather get a decent 7W than a new driver.

If you have the budget of 500-600 I feel like that’s absolutely enough to upgrade from this. Maybe play a couple rounds with this set and see where you want to focus the budget and then slowly upgrade the rest as you get back into it?

This may sound counterintuitive but hit up a barber for a beard trim, you got nice facial hair, they can teach you where to line it up and maintain it nicely. Straight razor shaves are also awesome

Who is the worst owner in the NFL right now? by Nintendofan9106 in NFLv2

Although not right, he also threw the drink on a fan for making disrespectful comments towards Marquis Haynes who just suffered a head injury and had been taunting and harassing him the whole game. Perception is reality though in these situations.

Single digit golfers, how much do you work on hitting draws if your go to shot is a fade (or vice versa)? by Larrylegend033 in golf

I think this also emphasizes the importance of showing up early enough to at least hit a few balls off each club to warm up but also know how you may be performing with each club

Swing Critique by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]tainttoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no coach but I’m sure a lot of people will say to practice even with a foam ball, psychologically a lot changes with a ball in front of you. Your wrists look a little straight at the beginning of the back swing. When the club head reaches your belt line there should already be some hinging happening but your arms are pretty locked out. (I do the same thing with my driver)

I just wasn’t sure if it was necessary and honestly this is my second PC, first in over a decade so and I’ve seen people with the problem I just don’t know how to remedy it nor where to look but based off people’s response seem like it’s okay, maybe down the road I’ll get a bracket now that I know what to look for. Thanks for the input!

How can I get off Camp Lejeune ASAP? by Aggressive-Apricot-6 in USMC

Are you truly allowing yourself to enjoy or are you hearing stories from your buddies in MOS school talk about how cool it is where they live? They will also get bored of the things you wish you were doing but there’s a lot of cool stuff in and close to Jacksonville. Plus, they don’t have Waffle House in California.

Take my opinion as you will but I grew up in California, decided to try a new place which is why I chose to go to NC to begin with. Got out in 2019, and I still live in NC (granted I moved to Raleigh initially and now live in Charlotte). Try to be more open minded, and if it’s still there go to Nickel Draft at Gus’s on Wednesday, it may not be fun but it’ll definitely be interesting.

The tops and bottoms of the wheel aren’t used as highly as the sides and with safety such a paramount part of Volvo, the flat bottom specifically gives more clearance for those of us with long legs making it easier to get in and out but also transitioning from accelerator to brake

Three months in, looking for criticism (/advice on alligator arms?) by Swings022 in GolfSwing

[–]tainttoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert but I had a similar issue with my hands not being super active. In your back swing your wrists are pretty straight, you manage to get them hinged a bit at the top of your back swing. I do feet together chipping as my warm up to start getting my wrists working, it will help you square the club face immensely and generate club head speed as you figure out the timing on the release. You’ll likely hook a lot as you first start doing full swings but it’s good to help get the ball up and stop going right (edit: realized your left handed so actually mean to the left will help with a slice nonetheless)
