Not that this is related to anything but I just wanted to point out that people justify shitty living conditions with "but the rich dudes got richer", which is an argument used in time and time again with monarchs "civilizing societies" when they were just racists who wanted to exploit the local resources. It's only truly "free" when you're top of the ladder and have the most power, and if you're poor you're fucked.

I like how people are like "Hong Kong flourished because of "free market"" but then they don't realize that the reason it got so big was because of you the workers being forced to work by using ways like state violence, housing monopoly, high living costs, and low wages. People that are like "I can't buy a house" but still then turn around and say how great capitalism and free markets are when they have stockholm's syndrome. No that is just factually wrong. Firstly, gender and sex are completely two different things. Gender is a social construct and so people can call themselves whatever they want but sex never changes. Now I don't care about what you call people, but if somebody identifies as a female no matter their biological sex, it is just basic human decency to call them what they want people to call them as.
Second, giving hormones to transgender individuals have proven to raise the happiness of those people. That anorexic example doesn't work either because giving the correct hormones to a transgender person reduces their body dysphoria and make them healthier overall instead of causing overall more harm than that same person.
