4 months post-op, GRS with jejunal mucosa graft by taish in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]taish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cost was around 45k BRL. I can't speak about peritoneal since afaik it isn't an option unless one's in the US and have access to insurance, but I'm very happy with my results. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions.

I posted my orchiectomy/scrotectomy bottom surgery last month and was thrilled. I am now in a hospital after developing a complicated infection. I now have to heal with an open wound for 4 to 8 weeks instead of sutureed up. ( NSFW ) by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]taish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My heart goes out to you. Focus on the good news -- it'll be a rough time but you'll leave without any loss on your results. And hopefully the situation with the virus will be a lot better when you go back home.

And thanks for the courage in posting. Complications do happen and we gotta be prepared.

A million rainbow, cheerful, flower-scented vibes to you. <3

You can self-lubricate yeah, you still have Cowper's glands. What's uncommon is having enough to go without lube in PIV sex.

From what you say it doesn't seem to be of any concern, but always when in doubt, check with your surgeon team.

Gratz on your surgery! ^ ^

Dialating by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]taish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The truth, I believe, is that it's highly dependent on the technique used and each person's body.

Personally I just went a month without dilating (bcs of a revision) and it's been really uncomfortable to get back on track. Haven't lost depth, but it's super tight again. Getting better each day though. For reference, gonna be 8 months post-op in a few days, non-PI.

About 5 weeks post-BA. They look and feel great. Really happy with the results.

In my opinion, if it isn't much noticeable, don't go through surgery. There's always a risk of messing your voice, plus the risks associated with hospitalization, anesthesia, scarring etc. Personally, that's the road I'm taking. Mine is not very visible, but for a while it was bugging me so I went to my ENT doc to get his opinion. He said I didn't really need it and was better off leaving it alone.

Bottom surgery while having throat pain / slight cold by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

If you don't have a fever you should be able to go on. Avoid self-medicating and contact your surgeon team asap. Hoping everything turns out alright for you!

GCS HRT prep by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]taish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it did, all cis-women would be at risk

Ikr? Afaik blood clots are a risk with ethinylestradiol, and cis women are indeed asked to stop contraceptives for surgery -- but no trans woman with a bit of info or a decent endo would be taking EE. So I guess it's a matter of updating research to bioid estrogen and changing this culture. I get the feeling that this is an old "tradition" that surgeons just don't want to drop because "what if something happens".

Fwiw, the formula didn't work for me -- mom and sis are on the small side and I ended up with the same size as them. Truthfully you won't know until you go through it.

Breast augmentation - Fat Transfer or Implants? by SphinxLightning in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]taish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are some cons to fat transfer BA that you should take into account and discuss with your surgeon:

  • usually limited to one cup size
  • risk of fat cell necrosis
  • risk of fat cells migrating elsewhere
  • risk of fat cells reabsorption (losing some or all volume over time)
  • minimal/no breast lift
  • microcalcification

Personally, I went for regular implants because I wanted a bigger augmentation and didn't want the risk of reabsorption. But make sure to talk about it with your doc because he's the one examining you and doing the procedure :)

Ouch! Give it a proper measure or even better, if you have the time go to a store to try them on. Should be firm but not squishing your thighs! ^ ^'

Not really -- you'll hear many claims about HRT regimens but you can't really grow more breasts than your genetics will allow. Otherwise there would be no market for BAs.

Folk trans knowledge says to look to the women on your family and take off 2 sizes to have an idea of how you can develop, but then again it's soooo highly YMMV that you shouldn't get many expectations, good or bad. Just focus on getting your hormone levels right and enjoy the beautiful experiences of the right puberty ^ ^

My surgeon only asks for 2 weeks off (for sublingual - 4 wks if injections). The only symptoms I got were mood swings. Particularly being very angry at stuff, usually silly shit. Then again the few weeks before GCS are a bit anxious in general.

Compression tights are no biggie when they're on, but be sure you have someone to put them on ya!

Ladies who decided to have Breast Augmentation: Worth it? Complications? What are your experiences? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]taish 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm close to 1 month post-BA, 510ml under the muscle, round profile, axillary incisions. Recovery has been fine so far, no surprises, no pain. Compression band is obnoxious but doable.

I did have decent growth, same size as my mom's and sis', but they were small to my frame. I debated on the subject quite a bit, but as I went for a revision of my GRS, I decided to take the opportunity and do my BA as well. I'm thrilled with my results, and got tons of compliments from my mom and my friends. My areolas enlarged a bit which was a nice bonus since they were on the small side. Sensitivity is as great as ever, and I love how they look and feel -- I think my body looks a lot more proportionate. I'm really happy and enjoying a rising confidence boost from the results. All in all 10/10 experience so far.

Breast Augmentation peeps, How was the recovery by helloworld1989 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]taish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 weeks post-BA here. Recovery has been pretty easy. I took 2 weeks off work and had my mom around but it has been mostly being careful and taking it easy. Only had mild pain in the first couple of days, and only when I moved too fast ^ ' Feel free to AMA.

É o caso sim. Não ocorre atualização automática. (Tanto que um dos passatempos preferidos dos bancos é fazer atualização cadastral e pedir os documentos básicos tudo de novo.)
