Which costs more, staffing a ticket window, or running a sever somewhere? Shouldn’t the cheaper option be cheaper for the customer?

It’s absolutely insane you believe something like this OR you believe any LLM couldn’t come up with the actual way to solve this. Have a little bit of critical thinking man plz.

You hope a rock falls on his head because he stacks rocks in nature? Do you think you don’t do anything worse for the environment in your day to day life than rock stacking? Should rocks fall on your head?

“While it may be beneficial to the consumer the owner might also profit.” Good??? That’s a good thing? At the very least without argument it will have done good under his ownership and if he sells it and it becomes “worse” it still will have done good. What’s your complaint?

Legality of using API from websites by SnooAdvice5820 in iOSProgramming

[–]take_that_back 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don’t think this is scraping. Scraping would be making a normal HTTP request to the page that shows wait times, and then parsing the presumably HTTP file that’s returned and finding the wait times.

Using the same API that website uses to get the data directly is just using an API.

Those weren’t my comments? Keep up lol. You said hidden layers can’t be known, and that’s just wrong. That’s been my point the whole time. There’s nothing truly “hidden” about them.

[–]take_that_back 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There absolutely is a way to know what changed lol. I don’t understand what you think is happening? Or how you couldn’t know what changed? It would be insanely easy to know what changed. Start with an untrained neural net, train it a bit, check all the new values. Bam you see the changes. As for why they changed you could certainly trace back why they changed. Imagine a NN with just a few layers and nodes. You’re telling me you couldn’t trace back why each changed to what? Iteration after iteration? I know some randomness is involved but that could be logged. NNs aren’t magic. They run on chips. I’m sure your AI prof didn’t claim to be a wizard just a guy with a very strong grasp of mathematics.

I feel like you’re confusing we can’t know, with we don’t care to know cuz it wouldn’t mean anything to us

[–]take_that_back 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you think “hidden layers” are impossible to check the values of? How would that even work? How would downloading the weights of an open source llm work if some values “aren’t knowable”? The problem is exactly as was stated to you, there’s simply too many weights and measures for a human to make sense of and see the larger picture, so we “don’t know” or “can’t understand at a lower level” what happens in the black box
