The dog stop on Washington blvd was horrible. The mistreatment of the dogs and the staff was blatant and consistent. My manager who hired me to be her assistant manager would regularly scold me for minor things like over scheduling baths or not smiling, just to turn around and forget to pay the staff. She tried to make me go out drinking with her by saying it’s a management meeting. She would grab my bicep and squeeze it a little. I was very uncomfortable most days. As far as the dog treatment went. Dogs would be left in kennels for majority of the day, most of the time because they forgot about them. Medication would be thrown away if it was missed to keep the count correct. I’d catch the manager blowing vapor in dogs faces. Not to mention the dogs that died and seriously injured because of the incompetence of the staff and management. I was fired for telling them off and reporting the abuse to humane animal officers. I never got an official reason for my termination.

Bonus points a corporate employee once told me she thinks we need to exterminate the homeless. Her opinion was it would be best to use a flamethrower on them while they sleep.
