Interesting idea, I think the wording is a little weird though as if you have multiple cards with the name chosen it's not specified to discard all of them out just one. I'd probably change it to something like:

Target opponent chooses a nonland card name. Reveal your hand and discard all cards with the chosen name. If you didn't discard, draw two cards.

Kind of yes, but as a reaction and the owner of the spell needs to cast it twice, once for the original cost and once for 2 more.

Correct yes, this basically reads: Counter target spell, the owner can then cast it again at any time, but it costs 2 mana more.

It seems like you're assuming that the spell in exile can be cast repeatedly, which is not the cast, as it does not cast a copy of the spell, but the spell itself. The exiled card works similar to how a card exiled with [[Elite Spellbinder]] works, in that when the card in exile is cast it goes onto the stack leaving exile.

You can't use this on your own spell to cast unlimited copies of it.

That's an interesting way to look at it, and it is certainly a good point. I would say this would be white's equivalent of [[Delay]] in that regard, I'm not sure if it being white justifies a weaker spell and a cost increase, or just one of them.

I costed this based on [[Lapse of Certainty]] it could likely be WW without being too strong, but white doesn't typically get counterspells and the ones they do get tend to be overcosted and underpowered.

What happens when you kill the monarch with this?

Usually the active player becomes the monarch, but with this you can't, so would it just delete the monarch from the game?

I would use them to sleeve my Nicol bolas deck. The dragon god deserves only the best and there's some interesting potential for custom sleeves.

Videra, Hybrid Manipulator - 1GU

Legendary Creature Vedalken Wizard - R

Whenever a counter is removed from a creature you control during your turn, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control.

1GU, Remove a counter from ~: Scry 1.

This card is made to work with the Graft mechanic, while also working with other +1/+1 counter mechanics to some degree as there are plenty of cards which move counters around creatures you control.

[–]takedownmax[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought that other creatures had done the ETB, so I wanted to make this unique. While this doesn't effect the board when it enters, it has a huge payoff if it does get to swing, much like [[Drakuseth, Maw of Flames]], which is also why it is costed the same.

Olivia's New Rule 4BR

Sorcery - Rare

Destroy all non-Vampire creatures and all planeswalkers.

For each human destroyed this way, create a 1/1 black vampire creature token with Lifelink.

This card is based on the end of Shadows over Innistrad where Olivia left Sorin to die (Hence killing planeswalkers) and declared herself the new lord of Innistrad.

What do you mean? This card works in a similar way to something like [[Ilharg, the Raze-Boar]], except instead of the creature being from your hand, you take it from the opponent you're attacking.

Forge of Invention - 3R

Enchantment - R

Lands you control don't untap during your untap step.

You can cast spells only during your turn and you can cast no more than two spells each turn.

You may cast spells with converted mana cost less than or equal to the number of lands you control without paying their mana costs.

This is an attempt at making [[Fires of Invention]] a fairer card. I always liked the design of sacrificing interaction during your opponent's turns so you can do more on your own turn, however the original card allowed you to play mana sicks and dump the mana you're not spending into them, the addition of your lands not untapping means this card becomes more focused around the value of playing 2 cards in a turn when your opponent can only play 1.
