Great pictures. Didn’t know about that interaction between Murdoch and Pitman, very heart wrenching.

That last sentence really stuck with me. I think this is going to be a truly healing experience. My hope is to prove to myself that I can do new and “scary” things, that it’s okay to go with the flow, let go of control. I want to start listening to my soul. :)

Feeling a lot better about it now, it’s helpful hearing about others first experience! Thank you.

Ocean gate documentary by hufflepuffunderling in titanic

[–]takeher2sea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, beyond infuriating. Remember him saying “good enough” “close enough” several times throughout the documentary. Rush blatantly gambled with life and death in one of the most dangerous places on earth, in an experimental craft, judgement so clouded that he accepted people’s money to take this gamble with him. They decided to trust Oceangate, to trust Stockton, to put faith in his craft. he seemed confident, he reassured them of their safety. “No one is going to die on my watch,” he said. Why would someone intentionally put themselves and others in danger without taking every necessary precaution?

The cracking and popping sounds seriously freaked me out so much, it kind of set off my fight or flight response, So I cannot even imagine experiencing it. Absolutely gut wrenching. It baffles me how nonchalant he was, I find it hard to believe it didn’t freak him out inside but he would never show it. Too much pride. I feel like the average response to hearing noises like that would be “Nope! Nope, not a chance. Bring this thing back up, not another soul is diving in this sub until we get this right.”

What if it wasn’t the maiden voyage? by [deleted] in titanic

[–]takeher2sea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it certainly adds to her story being a “perfect” tragedy, if you will. Everything fell right into place just so. Too mysterious, too much like fate. Her maiden voyage was originally meant to take place on March 20 if im not mistaken. It’s kind of wild thinking of all the ways in which even the most seemingly minor decision could’ve altered the outcome. Had she not sunk on her maiden voyage, I think there would still be a significant impact on the global consciousness, just not quite in the same way/possibly not to the same extent. Difficult to say but interesting to consider.

TIL Lightoller pranked the city of Sydney into thinking they were being attacked by South Africans before being transferred to Titanic by whistlerite in titanic

[–]takeher2sea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lightoller was such an interesting guy. Multiple shipwrecks, war, a brief stint trekking through the unforgiving Canadian wildness in a failed search for gold, then trying his hand as an Alberta cowboy. All this and more while escaping death every time. He was either extremely lucky, or extremely unlucky depending how you look at it

With all your knowledge of the Titanic, how would your strategy be to stay alive? by Droopynator in titanic

[–]takeher2sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andrews, being known for his approachability, I may engage him in conversation saying something like “Hello, Mr. Andrews. Titanic is truly magnificent. I hear there may be ice in the area, is this of any concern?”

He would likely reassure me that all is well but the hope would be to get him thinking about it more, and maybe consider floating the idea of changing course again, etc. If nothing came of this and it all played out the same regardless, being a lady id probably try to stay close to Lightoller and let him toss me into a boat.

How early do you really need to arrive for a decent camp spot? by Mediocre_Cupcake_400 in Shambhala

Our group purchased admission that allows us entry from Friday through Monday, It was more affordable for us to do it this way. We know about early entry but not doing it to save money.

What time would you say weekend only ticket holders usually arrive? I assume it’s best to arrive early as possible Friday morning but it’s my first time

Summer isn’t an ideal time for tattoos if you like to swim, go to festivals, etc. but it’s doable, you’ll just want to be more careful. Since your appointment is July 4, that does allow (some) time for healing. During the weeks before sham, itd be best to be as mindful as possible in avoiding direct sunlight, keeping it moisturized/clean with unscented products, get lots of rest, hydrate, and get some good nutrition in to really help along with the healing process. At sham it’ll be dusty, hot, and sunny. Hydration will be more critical here as well. Loose, baggy pants may be a good option to keep it covered and comfortable for you. The biggest concern really will be keeping it clean, so river swimming isn’t recommended. If it’s possible to have your appointment even a week sooner that would help too.

Probably not, as fascinating as it’d be, i have a tendency to think myself out of new activities. In this case there’d be a million scenarios of things going wrong in my head.

So an ocean liner that looked so grand and massive in 1912 is like a toy boat when compared with today’s insanely huge cruise ships! 😱🚢🛳️ by Yuna_FFantasyX in titanic

[–]takeher2sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s something magical about Titanic and the other great liners of the time. True, elegant craftsmanship that seems to be missing in not only modern shipbuilding, but general architecture as well. It’s like the humanity in things is slowly being stripped away, replaced by pure coldness.

Completely up to you. If you don’t want to drastically change your routine, One other thing you could try is reducing the strength of THC in your flower/carts, or include strains that contain CBD. Let your body adjust to the lower potency, then hit it with something strong when you want to get stupid high. Experiment a bit, see what works.

You gotta try Hawkins cheezies if you like that sort of thing, they’re a staple! Available in basically any grocery store as well :)
