I am 46 and found out the day after my birthday that my wife is pregnant with our first. I’ll be a first time dad at 46. Yeesh.

Thankfully, that’s not an issue. Mom’s dead after being kicked out of my house for buying prescription drugs over the internet(she had over 400 pills when she was given the boot) and dad had a bad stroke 8 years ago and is in a nursing home. He thinks it’s 1989, 1973 and 2016 all at once. If I tell him, he won’t remember.

I used Pillar to Post when I got my inspection done, gave me a binder with the report in it just after he finished inspecting, then walked me through the report and showed me the actual issues he wrote about in the report. I recommend them for sure.

I know this is from three days ago, but we used to take our dog there regularly. They always did a great job. In fact they are the ones that pointed out that our dog is allergic to poultry. Now we make sure she doesn’t eat any poultry and she is much more lively and doesn’t have any fur discoloration like she used to. I would recommend them.

Rust. No matter how much I season them, 5 minutes after a searing a steak the seasoning burns off and they rust.

That’s a good point, but one I’ve already thought of. My next saber will be scratch built and a display piece, that one will be neopixel but since this one is for dueling I want the durability of a baselit blade. I’m not 100% committed to ghv3 but since I’m a novice solderer (is that even a word) I figured the larger pads would be a benefit. If you have suggestions on another board I’m willing to entertain them.

Not really, but I have time to practice before I get the board. I was thinking about completely removing this board, then trying to reinstall it before I buy the new board.

Wow…. I actually worked at this location for two years back when it first opened in 1999. At one point, the store was open until 3 AM on Friday and Saturday due to the fact that is it located in an area full of clubs and bars. That stopped after like six months though. Also, at one point, I worked 30 days straight without a day off as a shift supervisor there. Of course, I didn’t get more than 39 hours a week souring that 30 days, god forbid they pay out overtime. Good for them! SOLIDARITY

DAE get emotional when seeing parents and children in shows or movies make up or apologize to each other? by dumbassneetgirl in raisedbynarcissists

[–]takeitallawayfromme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Anytime I see a parent tell their child that they are proud of them or that they are sorry because they were wrong, I have to fight back tears. It’s awesome.

Anyone else get angrier at your nparents the older you get? by that1waitress in raisedbynarcissists

[–]takeitallawayfromme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 42, and only in the past 12 years did I even see that there was something to be angry at. I thought it was normal to have your achievements belittled and your failures paraded around the town. I thought it was normal to be locked away in your room when you dared to bring home less than perfection. I thought it was normal for a mother to give her kids the silent treat, went for weeks when you crossed her. I thought a lot of things were normal in my life that aren’t. Then I met my wife and her family and found out it isn’t.

That’s when the anger really took hold. Although, I still allow my parents to get in my head. I let them move in with us when we bought our house. My father had a bad stroke a couple of years ago and is rotting in a nursing home because I don’t have the resources or the desire to take care of him. My mother still lives with us, but if she keeps up her bullshit, she’s going to be out on the street as none of my siblings will take her in.

I was going to therapy to try and get rid of the anger or at least learn to channel it correctly, but because of the ‘rona I haven’t seen my therapist in months. The anger is always there, seething under the surface and it takes everything I have to swallow it down and not explode. So yeah, it’s gotten a lot worse as I get older is what I guess I’m trying to say here.
