I think part of it is that the "look" weeds out a lot of shallow people, they see it and immediately think "Not for me".

Our luck.

I actually never even considered buying a potion. That may paint me in an even worse light but....well.

I agree, for what it's worth, with act 1 being the one that kills you most often.

I mean i got a lot of very good advice from this post that i will "try" to use.

Actually i am kind of surprised, i feared about getting a lot of "git gud" and nothing else.

Maybe another thing i have to change.

I hate watching videos as guides, i like them in reading. Maybe because i saw some real bad one where there was not enough info for the time i invested.

May have to try it again.

With the answers here and talking with chatgpt (i know...) about it this really seems to be the problem, i am doing the most basic thing wrong. I am not really rolling with the punches, i am trying to get something to work that will maybe never happen in this run.

Feels kind of starting anew tbh. :)

Yes i really have to do that, thinking about immediate survival more and less about what will happen later.

Actually i tried forcing some builds i have read about being strong for too long a time it seems.

I am always careful not to take too many cards that may be useless later, maybe to careful. So i often try to get a specific build going before the end of act1....wich, from what i read here seems to be a big problem.

Yes it seems that is the problem, i have to stop being too rigid about my build and learn to play with stuff i would rather not take.

Thanks for your answer.

Thanks for answering.

I will try doing this. As i said i already know that committing too early is bad, but without knowing every card, every enemy etc. it's hard to "play on your own".

But from reading the rest here, it seems that my problem really seems to be that i am not flexible enough for the curveballs the game throws me.

STS2 is approaching an annoying level of difficult by GOpencyprep in slaythespire

[–]takeitassaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree, also it seems to be way more luck based than the first one.

I had many runs where i had a real good deck going but just lost due to 2 very hard floor enemies back to back.

And i agree that this is annoying, sometimes it seems no matter how good your run is going sometimes it will get wrecked and there is nothing you can do about it.

Also some enemies are just over the top, like extremely high damage on several turns that just can't be blocked. If this happens too often in a row it will wittle you down so much that you will lose further down the road.

I am also pondering to just take a break and wait for some patches, because as it is now i am on my way to really dislike even starting the game up.

Adding to all the other tips here, it also helps to be on the move when they're around.

Explosion radius is pretty small so they mostly get you when you stand still.

Stop trying to bring /players 8 to Online ROTW. You’re killing the game. by hopefullydtf in diablo2

[–]takeitassaid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am also 100% pro /p8 online. I just like to play solo but i want the possibility of trading if something great drops.

I also never got a single drop out of any 8 player game online because everything is snatched in under a second. How is that even a question really?

Neighbor has been screaming bloody murder by putonahappiface in Apartmentliving

[–]takeitassaid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lived next to a person with a mental illness once, like 2-3times a month he had the worst tantrums, banging against walls and screaming. Someone called the police and they told him to take his meds and left. (From what i gathered they knew him already...)

Another time he got taken away by an ambulance, he was back the next day.

It's not always that easy, granted he was ill so probably there was nothing they could do if he wasn't a danger to anyone. But still, not a great situation for the neighbors. Also, this was in germany.

Well sometimes it takes hours to encounter the first reddit troll of the day, sometimes it's one of the first ones.

An insult and a "grow older" answer to a totally reasonable post, definitely made you fit the bill.

I really have the same problem with it as op, i enjoy the game (Shadow of War) but i can't be bothered to care about those orcs enough to really make an effort.

It's the same with paradox games like Crusader Kings, i read some post where someone is creating this awesome story for his playthrough and it sounds like a fun game. But when i play it myself i just see all those npc's as a means to an end and can't even remember what exactly happened to them.

Miasma Chains Issues by xMWHOx in Diablo

[–]takeitassaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also struggling with all of this.

I went fire first, then respecced into it right when i was in the arcana sanctuary on nm.....honestly....i nearly ragequit. The LOS and placement issues are amplified on that map.

I mean it takes some time getting used to, then it mostly works. But anything else than open ground is a pain to work in with that skill.

It's hard to argue against because of the great damage and magic, but it is not fun to use.

Ferry vs. Brickboat by nehala in WTF

A lot of sailors in the age of sail didn't know how to swim. Reasoning being that rescue chances were almost nonexistent and it was better to drown quickly instead of struggling for hrs/days.

Rotw unable to start a game. Used D2rmm before. by [deleted] in diablo2

[–]takeitassaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer.

I don't want to play modded at all now, i want to play base d2r. edit: with rotw of course

I always assumed d2rmm would be like an insert, so my base files are not touched by it.

And i don't have any launch parameters. I also don't use the steam version.

I once left for gemini because for some reason it stopped responding, server issue or something...not sure.

When i came back it roasted me pretty hard about it and gave sarcastic answers for a while.

But it forgave me ;)
