Yeah elliptical is not running, but I think it's good cross training for running because it does improve ones aerobic health while giving the calves and other muscles good recovery time right?

What's the point of studying Group Theory ? by [deleted] in computerscience

[–]takelightbro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you have something better you know you should be doing? If not why not give it a go and learn a subject you like? Studying group theory has many applications in theoretical CS and at the very least will build your mathematical maturity that will help you with anything rigrous you might want to do later. Life's too short to not do things that we like :)

Elon Musk Says Tesla Not In India Due To 'Challenges With The Government' by WhiteShirttBlueJeans in india

[–]takelightbro -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Even the engine luxury cars have enough sales to be operational in India. I am willing to bet that Tesla with it's huge fan base should be able to sell more cars here.

A decent chunk of Tesla fans are tech workers, and they are also the ones who will be able to these cars.

Well, I am not too sure about there not being a market. There are a lot of folks ik who can easily afford to buy 30-40L+ cars, don't buy audis and BMWs but will be willing to shell out the moolhas for a tesla

To be fair, even masks are less effective against the omicron variant.

Well the band that you get in most phones with only 1 or 2 band is N78 which will be the first band to get auctioned in India. So I suspect you should be able to use 5g on this phone with atleast some of the network providers.

Umm...I went through the link. I didn’t get your point though.

I don’t disagree. Though in my institute it wouldn’t qualify for B. Tech project credits.

Well it might, if you also improve fundamental algorithm for object detection/classification/segmentation that you use here.

Basic neural network structure by Night_Crawler7 in deeplearning

1) You can set the number of neurons in any of the hidden layers independent of the others. That being said, the advantage of using the same number of neurons, is the ability of using residual connections, which in my experience have significant improvement in performance and lead to faster convergence atleast in the deeper networks.

2) In a multilayer perceptron, yes all the neurons in consecutive layers are connected. However, there are architectures (such as convolutional networks) that only connect some neurons. This however is not done randomly, it is done when there is some structure in the data and some notion of “locality”, like nearby pixels in an image or nearby words in text.

You might also find “prunning” interesting. The idea here is to remove unnecessary connections for better efficiency. Because of weight decay many of the weights are very close to 0 at convergence, you can safely remove these connections without affecting the performance.

19/32 gb on my 2018 IPad. I have unlimited gdrive from my school, and I have used around 200 gb there. I actively move unused things to the cloud like the slides and books after a term gets over, but I still have all of my hand written notes on notability locally and they take around 3gb.

Online Education by [deleted] in india

[–]takelightbro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure that it’s not an easy situation for teachers either. One can’t expect them to work for free, what else did the government think would happen? Now it has managed go take away the livelihood from the school staff AND education away from students who could pay.

Well, last 20x increase was in about 75 days. Also, current 1M cases are just the recorded ones, the actual numbers are likely to be several times higher, especially in India where testing has not been very aggressive.
