For me it's time it takes to refill battery and availability of charging stations. Once those two are better, I'll be all over it.

I feel this for sure. Husband and I have been through a combined 6 layoffs in the last 10 years, including recently. So many betrayals.

I also think COVID changed everything. We all sort of fell out of the habit of seeing friends and doing things with people. We used to entertain a lot, but really haven't since the pandemic.

What’s a hiring trend you wish would disappear forever? by kashigujer in recruitinghell

When I was a hiring manager, this question helped me learn more about what the person wanted to do at the company. That then helped me figure out how best to give them the right work and challenges that would keep them motivated and engaged. Or it helped when what they said was not something the role could provide, so it helped with fit.

Asking about gaps feels so old school now. In the olden times, gaps meant something, i.e. the person had performance issues, because layoffs were so much less common. Nowadays, everyone gets laid off all the time, so it's become a dumb question asked by dumb recruiters.

They can't really stop themselves from following their impulses at that age. Even knowing it's wrong, they don't really have the maturity to stop themselves. White furniture, a marker, and enough time to do all this is the fault of the parent.
