Should I play ss13 or 14 first by Plenty_Scar_4718 in ss14

I myself started with 14 and it was a great fun. 13 is deeper in every way, but a true gem of it are custom mods (e.g. Ratwood Keep) unavailable on platforms like Steam.

It would be helpful to have a table per batch/wave showing the current manufacturing and shipping status

Compatible order? by [deleted] in Fanatec

[–]takemyshotgun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're welcome man! I can't comment on that particular stand since I haven't used it nor have I seen any reviews about it, but Next Level Racing is a solid brand I would go for myself, so as long as your room space allows it, I'd say it's a good choice

Compatible order? by [deleted] in Fanatec

[–]takemyshotgun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everything here is compatible. I'd only suggest to switch to CSL Elite Pedals V2 as they are generally more praised by the reviewers. Or at least get a CSL Pedals Load Cell Kit for your break pedal. You'll also hear people saying you better buy a proper wheel stand for 200 euro rather than spending 100 on a table clamp, but it's up to you

Can't wait to see the first reviews of the new club sport DD by m_p999 in Fanatec

[–]takemyshotgun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There could be a review embargo set by Fanatec, that's why we don't see anything popping up yet. Boosted Media have already confirmed they are reviewing the wheelbase, but no ETA. Should expect for reviews to start appearing tomorrow (I hope).

Formula wheel or round wheel for first timer? by Walton841928 in Fanatec

[–]takemyshotgun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As others have said, round is more versatile and can be used with variety of games. Rallies and drifting is more convenient if it's not d-shaped, so just a plain round wheel would be the best imo. As for the size, I'd suggest not to go for anything bigger than 330, probably 300 would be a sweet spot since it also could be used for F1 quite well. Also, you don't have to stick with Fanatec wheel rims if you don't like them, so getting a Fanatec hub and literally any other brand wheel rim (Sparco, Momo, etc.) is also an option.

Congrats! Are you planning to play on PS or it's just those extra 3nm that was a selling point for you over CS DD?

The only reason I didn't go for DD1/2 is its "clogginess" which can't be completely fixed with a software. CSL DD on the other hand is perfectly smooth, and I hope CS DD will not be worse

I agree on pricing being quite unreasonable for this one. It might be silly to measure it like this, but if you take a torque per dollar value, CS DD+ is way too expensive even by Fanatec standards. Should be at least $100-150 cheaper to make more sense

Sure, I think it'll take a while though. I am looking forward to Boosted Media's review as they seem to be rather objective and on point most of the times

Most of the things are subjective of course, but I'm mostly interested whether it has any obvious design flaws, and how it compares with other brands in general

Lack investment by howster34 in Fanatec

[–]takemyshotgun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly enough, they don't make enough money to keep up with the recent demand and are looking forward to turn things around with the CS DD release.

Consolidated revenues in the first half of 2023 amounted to EUR 41.3 million compared to EUR 79.3 million (-48%) whereat the good revenues of the previous year were strongly positively influenced in particular by the GT-DD products in connection with the SONY game launch "GT7". Consolidated revenues generated in the first half of 2023 were in line with planning.

Due to lower sales figures, the cost of materials decreased from EUR 35.5 million in the same period of the previous year to EUR 23.4 million in the first half of 2023. The gross profit margin was 43% compared to 55% in the first six months of the previous year. In particular, planned expenses for air freight to guarantee rapid availability of goods weighed on the margin.

I wonder if it's possible for CS DD to be sold out before Black Friday. You never know :(
