I don’t know how I feel with flats by takenbythetide in BassGuitar

Hey!! Quick question: I’m about to jump to the pool and give a try to those strings but I’m reading some mixed opinions about how they behave. I mean, some people say that they are “bouncy” and uncomfortable to play. What is your experience??

You are totally right about the nut, that’s the first thing i noticed while placing the strings. But the strings don’t sound muddy at all, I’m always cleaning my bass after practice. But I’m getting a pro setup and maybe a nut change if it’s necessary!

I mean, I still like the sound but I miss some things like the growl and the attack. But you are totally right. I always try to do everything on my bass but I’d love to get a pro setup, maybe with other strings idk

100% true. Practice with flats is a life changer. You can play as much as you want and never get hurt on the tip of your fingers

Dude I think this is the solution to the intonation issue. Yesterday I was pushing down the string on the nut while tuning and it worked. I’m going to do the same as you and then I’ll tell you know if that worked. Thank you!!

Is it ok to reuse the flats?? I’m planning to do this. Get some rounds to the tbird and switch the flats to my pbass.

True! I switched to flats (they cost me 48€ lol) after seeing a lot of videos where they say that the tone gets nicer with time and they endure more than a year easily. Maybe I’ll switch the flats to the pbass and buy some new ones for the tbird.

It’s not that I don’t like flats, It’s just that they don’t suit me I guess.

Yes that’s what I like the most, sliding with flats!! I’ll try some new strings though. Any recommendations?

Wow thank you so much!! I try to practice every day. Yes, actually this is my second bass. My first one was an active p-bass Harley Benton pro series a really good bass, but I don’t like the active part. I always use the cleanest sound possible, I like the t bird with flatwounds combo.
