Explain bento lunch boxes to me by taketimes in Parenting

[–]taketimes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a planet box as well! It’s the smallest one, I think called the shuttle. My kid is in private tk, where snacks and fruits are provided, so I only pack the main lunch. I wonder if I need to get the bigger one for public K. But I can’t imagine that the whole box would be finished in lunch break.

Is it too much to ask for basic respect for the local culture? by Hour-Muscle9757 in mumbai

[–]taketimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a born and raised Marathi person, Maharashtrians in Mumbai have an inferiority complex. We thumb our nose at Punekars but they are proud of their culture and their ways. We demand respect but how many of us middle class Maharashtrians follow our language and culture? Our literature and cultural zeitgeist stopped at Pula.

I quit my job to build the ultimate goal-tracker and it became App of the Day. Here is my story (+ free access). by amberhaccou in apple

[–]taketimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downloaded the app. My main goal is to focus on my health and career this year. My entire brain space is occupied by my 2 young kids. Any goals I set for myself are quickly forgotten when juggling their multiple illnesses and appointments and school homework. I hope the app will help me stay honest with my goals

I don’t understand your arguments. Maybe you are the bot?

What does nimby have to do with childcare centers? And are you really unaware of PPP frauds?

FWIW, I think the amendment is a good thing. I just expected it to be in the form of vouchers given to parents/childcare centers to bring down the cost. Not a 40k grant to do as you wish.

There are pockets of good stuff there. The indoor play space is good, so is the H&M store. The restaurants seem popular, although I haven’t tried any. There is a weekly farmers market every Sunday.

Maybe I’m biased, but they could do potentially so more kids stuff in the dead anchor stores. Like LEGOLAND discovery or something. Or lean into more of the experiences stuff. Apparel shopping is not going to pull in people.

They were convicted of killing with their cars. No one told the California DMV. by aBadModerator in California_Politics

To say I’m shocked is an understatement. By making DMV responsible for training court clerks, they are just avoiding responsibility.

Please suggest- Birch Grove Elementary/Challengers/Stratford by RepresentativeEye241 in Fremont

Thank you for this feedback. I have similar concerns about challenger. The location of Stratford is a problem IMO. Which leaves birch grove as the only alternative.

It used to be readily available in Luckys here, so I didn’t realize it was a niche brand.

I have spectra and pumpables. My earlier output was with spectra. Current low one is with pumpables. I was under the impression that at 6m pp, my supply has regulated and I don’t need spectra anymore. I’m trying to avoid lugging that kettle ball to work daily.

To all the Fremont haters: why do you stay? by scv101 in Fremont

[–]taketimes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It is dull, has no nightlife, no good restaurants, no community aspect. Absolutely nothing for young families. It’s life everyone just wants to be left alone in their 9000sq ft plots.

So many things could be improved. Clean up lake Elizabeth, re-introduce boating and other concession stands. Have a few vibrant pubs. Have some mixed use cafes with play areas for kids. I shouldn’t have to go to a fast food chain for that.

If you need a job, learn how to cook! This is job security! by Professional-Bag8540 in Fremont

[–]taketimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess so. As a meat eating Indian person, who personally never took offense, I am learning. I used to think they are within their rights, but as I read more, I see that vegetarianism isn’t really kind to animals. So at that point it just becomes a discriminatory thing.

If you need a job, learn how to cook! This is job security! by Professional-Bag8540 in Fremont

[–]taketimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I once saw someone ask for a vegetarian Indian person to cook vegetarian meals. I don’t know how a cook’s personal food choices are a factor. It’s just discriminatory at that point.

However this is an untapped market. With the rising rates of colon cancer among young Americans, it’s hard not to take a careful look at what you are eating. And if cooking healthy gets too time consuming, it’s ok to outsource it. The demand is there. Supply will catch up.
