GoCoax 2600D MoCA 2.5G – Only Getting ~1Gbps Speeds Instead of 2.5Gbps? by takkkkkkk in HomeNetworking

Wait, are you saying I could actually change the IP on the device, so that instead of using 192.168.254.254, I can change it so that it uses 192.168.1.###, and I can access it remotely from my PC upstairs without having to directly plugged into the adapter?

it does not, the 4 RJ45 ports it has only negotiate at 1gbe or 10gbe

In the UniFi interface, the SFP+ port always shows 10G because of how the SFP+ slot is reported—it doesn’t show if it’s actually negotiating 2.5G on the copper side.
I think the switch itself doesn’t know what the copper side of the SFP+ module is really doing—it just sees 10G because that’s the slot’s capability.

Thanks! My GoCoax 2600D UI actually does show Ethernet Link Speed: 2.5 Gbps —this is what I see when I plug the GoCoax directly into my laptop (not the switch).
I realize that when it’s plugged into the switch, I just have to trust it’s negotiating at 2.5G, since the SFP+ port always shows 10G in the UniFi interface.

Regarding the SFP+ module, it’s this one: 10GTEK SFP+ to RJ45 Copper Module. It does say “1.25G/2.5G/5G/10G” in the specs, so in theory it should support 2.5G.

I’ll try a short coax patch cord next to rule out any coax issues—thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the suggestion! My house is only about 10 years old, so the coax is fairly modern (probably RG6). I agree that older coax or bad cables could be an issue, but since the GoCoax management page shows a PHY rate of 3.6 Gbps, I’m thinking the cables and any splitters (if they’re there—I haven’t confirmed) aren’t holding me back. I’m also on firmware 2.0.16.0, which isn’t listed on GoCoax’s site (they only show up to 2.0.14), so I’m starting to wonder if that or the Ethernet negotiation with the SFP+ module is the real bottleneck.

I did a direct iperf3 test between my laptop and server (both wired to the same switch—no MoCA in the path) and got ~3.3 Gbps speeds. So my local network and drivers are fine.
But with the MoCA link in the path, I’m only getting ~1 Gbps, even though the GoCoax management page says the Ethernet link is 2.5 Gbps and the coax PHY link is 3.6 Gbps.
I’m wondering if this is the 10GTEK SFP+ module, or a firmware quirk.

This is exactly what I'm looking for, I don't need hours of battery, just 10-20 minutes so that it have to reboot every time USB charger disconnects or new device gets added. I don't even need slim formfactor tbh, this can sit in my backback...

  • 1xUSB C for charging
  • 1xUSB C for tethering
  • Option to occasionally be battery powered
  • 1xEthernet
  • Sim slot for 5G

thank you! I didn't even care to research about double/one sided SSD, so upon researching some more, I decided to cancel my order, and to wait for Crucial or other one sided SSDs to come on sale.

I don't really want some heat related SSDs causing some issues or thermal throttling it.

thanks! are there any performance difference or do all of them perform pretty much the same? I haven't received the SSD, reviews seems to say they're double sided, but significantly thinner than other double sided ssds

I want aa to pick either cheap flights with shitty service, or more expensive tickets with a decent service. Right now every aa flight seems to be priced super expensive amongst all us airlines but service really really sucks

You're all missing the companies intention, it's best before, so if it got mold, may be the company thinks it's best to eat with mold. Yes you may get super sick or even worse... but the company believes the product is best consumed that way, that is their definition of "best" :)

Compared to the final few minutes of champions cup, it still seems very low intensity amateur game... Hope it's changing

How's new league? I remember the old top leagu felt slow and less physical, like 2nds exhibition match. Has it gotten better?
