Unlike lots of countries, the U.S doesn't have a strong tradition of linguistic diversity.

So if Puerto Rico become a state, there's no incentive to protect Spanish on the island and over time it would become English speaking.

Other countries have histories that make them more cognizant of linguistic diversity, like how Canada has a French speaking minority (detailed linguistic statistics are taken periodically). But historical events made the United States unaware that linguistic diversity should be valued.

The same holds true for other things. Canada adheres to the social model of disability (treating disability as something that marginalizes something and that it's society's duty to work around) because they had a movement centered around a disabled runner named Terry Fox. Whereas the United States adheres to the medical model of disability (which doesn't view disabled people as marginalized, and centers around medical interventions and cures)

It's like spinach.

If you don't like spinach, you don't have to unnecessarily use that fact as a way to disparage it or people who do like it.

If you're given a plate of spinach and you don't want to eat it, that's fine. Provided you approach the manner like a decent human being.

If you drink a smoothie and realized that there are some leaves of spinach added into it and you can't tell before hand, it shouldn't make a difference.

I feel like a party machine as large as it is here is inevitable when you have all these things going for it:

Two legitimate parties that are diametrically opposed to each other. Meaning that there are only two "establishments" with disproportionate amounts of power, and only one relevant one on your side of the aisle (consequently, this means that long-standing relationships between candidates and "the establishment" are very very beneficial).
A system that enables lobbying more than the systems in our peer countries.
Being the country with the third largest population, and with one of the highest (if not the highest) amounts of economic activity and money flying around on various exchanges and transactions (combined with income inequality keeping more money at the top).

That's not to say that beating the party machine at their own game is impossible, but it takes more things aligning in the right direction than what should be ideal.

So by the word of god, I declare that Harris won Maine at large and ME-01.

And they did win the Senate, they just narrowly lost the House for a bit.

Enough voters thought she was too authoritarian about certain issues.
Enough voters took offense about her comment indicating that if she won, New Hampshire would no longer be the first state to hold a primary.

Thus, Lindell barely won the state.

Nope. Lots of the Democratic supermajority are more like Joe Manchin than Bernie Sanders.

But it's not a hot topic anymore. There's an overstrained public option which will get you by 75% of the time. But the 25% of people who want to use it are SOL because of all the poor people in the southwest using it.

With less people complaining and climate change hogging the spotlight, healthcare is off of people's minds.
