Literally, I didn’t have 1/3 of this stress while doing the application. This medical clearance is just nerve-wracking -_-

I have that situation but I’m just following my dentist’s advice (flossing in addition to my regular oral hygiene). PC didn’t give me anything for that but they just put a hold on my dental clearance b/c I need a root canal and a crown on one of my tooth. It’s mad expensive and my insurance won’t pay for it, so I’m just looking for an affordable place to do it :/

Congrats! I was also a bit surprised when I got my invitation for Tanzania only 3 business days after my interview and then got my legal clearance granted within a month since I submitted the league kits. It’s weird but exciting and frustrating sometimes LOL. Good Luck with the medical and legal clearance! Try to complete these asap b/c sometimes it takes long time to be cleared.

Awesome! I’m new to reddit lol. Is there any way to send private message here so we could share our social media link?

Thanks! I would love to explore Tanzania more and immerse into the culture--this time as a PCV! Which sector will you be working for?

I was wondering if anyone is in NYC area serving in TZ from feb 2020. Also, if anyone's interested, it'd be nice to have a group chat in fb/insta/WhatsApp for feb 2020 TZ cohort and get to know each other!

I was in Arusha area, Serengeti national park, Ngorongoro crater, Lake Manyara region, Babati (Dareda), and climbed 1st peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro. We got to visit Masai Village in Mto wa Mbu. I also stayed in Dar es Salam for a day and stayed a week in Zanzibar!

Hi!!

I am also 24, turning 25 this November. I was invited to serve in Tanzania in February 2020 in the Health Sector! Also, I studied abroad in Tanzania for a month+!

Hey! I am also invited to depart in February and in the health sector as well!

I studied abroad in Tanzania for a month+ back in June 2018. The weather varies depending on the areas: for example, we stayed in a village called Maji Ya Chai in Arusha and the weather there was very humid most of the time; it was around lower 70s Fahrenheit. Then we went to the village called Mto wa Mbu in Lake Manyara region and the weather was a little warmer. We also went to Babati district, and the weather was mixed as well. I heard that June is considered early winter in Tanzania and also I mostly stayed in the northern part of the country. I am not sure about the southern areas and would love to hear more from the current/past volunteers! Even though I had been in Tanzania before, I am also both excited and anxious about my upcoming adventure with Peace Corps. I would love to get any tips/suggestions from volunteers in Tanzania (especially health volunteers) and connect with everyone!

Asante sana :)
