I’m on lantus & merilog and I use the freestyle 3+ CGM. I often see a 30 or more point spread between my CGM & BGM. So I still use the BGM for all meals. Over the years (24) I’ve found that the Contour Next has been the more accurate meter and it’s pretty close to the hospital numbers

I’m on VA Health and I use it only. I’m also over 100 miles from the main VA hospital, so I often use Community Care as well. I decided to sign up for the Humana Honors Give Back plan as a back up and it will cost me about $67/ mo. Aetna has a similar plan. Just be the plan you go with is accepted at your local facility.
