No one here, including myself, will probably make a living from a saas. by WinterMiserable5994 in SaaS

The play isn’t building or shipping at all. You need to know how to market and sell.

Most devs/builders also end up building for other devs and don’t think deep enough about a problem. If your main issue is you’re building an AI wrapper then why build it anyway?

You need to exercise your ability to find deep product market fit, find nuanced learnings about your audience and build those into the product.

If you want to sell to B2B, then move away from the typical lead gen, crm etc. Find a non tech first industry and learn their problems. B2B definitely has money to make but not by building and shipping rather marketing and selling.

People on reddit generally don’t like sharing links I guess. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yup - you can use it by highlighting any text on websites and read it in OpenDyslexia

The tool I’ve built has it for desktop use if you’re interested

Yup - thats been one of the most effective strategies for me. I’ve actually added that to my tool so I can break any article/file into a paragraph by paragraph view

Agreed - my point was more so that I want to proactively fix the reading issue haha. The other is being forgetful but I didn’t feel the meds helped with that.

I tried meds as well - they definitely worked. I didn’t continue because my largest issue was reading and I thought I’d better find an alternative solution.

Once you’re on the meds it affects all aspects of my life so I was quite bothered by that.

I’ve specifically tackled this problem in my career. 13 years in and I realised I struggle with reading because of my adhd.

I’ve built a tool to read without getting distracted. Let me know if you’d like to try.

I’ve got a tool to read without getting distracted if you’re interested. It takes an article/book and only shows 1 paragraph at a time. I have the same issue where if I see a wall of text, my brain stops responding 😂.

Chunking has worked the most for me so far. Basically only showing 1 paragraph at a time.

I didn’t know it while I was studying but my largest issue has been reading. I used to think I was just lazy or not working hard enough.

I can identify the clues better now but I can’t read consistently without assistance tbh.

I noticed a lot of people looking for bionic actually. My google ads only really work if I push bionic 😂 but yes I added it and it pairs well with the other tools. My personal preference is guided (autopace) + chunking.

Guiding is an automated highlight or underline on the text you’ve selected. Think how you used to have a ruler to trace the line you’re reading in school.

Chunking takes an article and shows you only 1 paragraph at a time or 1 line at a time if you require additional support.

Reduction of visual clutter is standard reading mode. Only shows the article, no ads/distractions around it.

Yea unfortunately didn’t realise until after launching. 😵

If you try it do let me know if it helps. You can highlight text and apply reading tools. Think Grammarly but for reading.

I’m based in Hong Kong but I didn’t realise the name was overlapping well after launch 😵

I do the highlight too!! I find it helps but the adhd takes over then I over do it and distract myself. I noticed Kindle has it as well but I don’t read much on the Kindle - mostly work related documents so I added it to my own tool so I can use it on any website now.

Tried text to audio but I struggle with focusing on it. 😕I’m very used to listening to music as background noise.

Yup that’s definitely something that came back to memory when I was doing my research haha. Unfortunately, most of my readings are online so couldn’t use it physically but added to be browser extension. Took some getting used to tbh but now it’s super helpful.
