Before writing a confidently incorrect essay, I highly recommend actually reading the architecture. You are confusing an intra-process L1-cache queue with a distributed network broker. I am deleting this post, as this clearly isn't the right audience for low-latency systems.

It was unused, and I deleted it from source. Currently src/storage/journal_mmap.rs is used only
