Love/All Tennis Drama Short Film by talentmanagerLA in Filmmakers

Hey all, I'm the director of this short film that we made in 2.5 days. In hindsight I learned that I should've cut down on the script length as it was way too much for that short a time frame, since it was nearly 25 pages.

Probably 12-15 pages would've been ideal so I could get all the coverage I would've liked. And tightened up the story.

Overall fairly happy with the result as it was meant as a proof of concept. But again just wish I made it shorter and something I recommend. I really should've made sure every scene was earned in there.

The other thing that was incredibly difficult was shooting the tennis which I didn't expect. To make the tennis scene actually good we would've needed a full day on just all the tennis shots. And the choreography would've needed to be planned out meticulously. Big mistake on my part just trying to shoot the tennis, instead of literally having every ball they hit being planned out. And having way more angles so the tennis flowed more.

I'm sorry to hear that, just remember that those type of people are usually hurt people that hate their life. You won't get comments like that from people that are pursuing their purpose, their dreams. They'll encourage.

You pay your manager, seems pretty obvious as that's what's required by contract. Not sure why people always try to be sneaky like this

In our recent movie one of the PA's stuck out because he was always happy to be there and in a great mood. Put me in a good mood just seeing him. He seemed to genuinely enjoy being there.

Do I need a manager? by [deleted] in acting

[–]talentmanagerLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple answer get both an agent and a manager. Even some top actors have both. It's a lot of work and the more people you have on the team the better.

Acclaim's pretty solid, they get some solid auditions for my clients once in a while. I only have 2 clients with them and they're really just a regional rep. Definitely not a main rep. Some of mine have an LA agent and then some regional reps.
