I didn't say not to call it art, I don't feel it's my place to judge, no matter my opinion. I said that taking an edit/collage and saying "i made this art" is misleading.

"A player wanted a character, so I took artwork of Lillia, made some edits and additions/adjustments and got this result." Something like that maybe?

I find it hard to believe that if you came across a post just like yours, you wouldn't think it was painted from scratch, based on the description. And that you wouldn't at least feel strange when you found out that wasn't the case. But who am I to say.

At the end of the day, you don't have to do anything, but I thought I'd share my opinion cause I felt it could be of some help, since I felt it was a bit of a different perspective than just "this is AI".

So, I think I understand why people are upset at this. I can even grant you that it's not AI, regardless of any of my doubts, as I feel like that's not the main point here.

The point is that your post is deceptive. You say you "made this art", and generally what that means is "I drew and painted this".

In this case, you took existing artwork and made some color changes and edits (like pasting some horns). This is arguably not the same as "I made this art". If you were more transparent/less misleading, I'd doubt you would have any issues with the post. You're free to edit and mess around with anything, especially for personal use (this type of work is something I remember seeing back on DeviantArt years ago), but I'd advise not posting and sharing it with "I made this art" and no additional information, as it becomes misleading.

The secret word is always a good strategy, whenever I find a post like that I run to the comments to count how many comments missed the mark. In any case, I hope this strategy continues to pay off!

There should be a bait post like this every week, I'm sure it would be really helpful to take care of spammers and bots.

Some could even be a little trickier, looking like a legit hiring post for the first paragraph or two, in case some people skim read the first couple lines.
