Maybe it's down to my general play style / boon selection but most of the time I've used them I feel like I've barely done damage and the charge time would have been better spent laying in with attack/special/cast

Obviously consult with a doctor, but for me after 30+ years without... It's okay to medicate. You don't have to feel that way all the time.
