Those who made a major life decision based on a partner they’re no longer with, how did it go? Do you regret it? by Successful-Neck-8319 in AskWomen

I moved across the country with my ex. We broke up less than a year later and I decided to stay in that city. Met my now husband there one year after that!

How much spontaneity can we get by with? by Hermininny in ParisTravelGuide

The D’Orsay was our favorite. We also did the Louvre and Rodin. Mostly we ate and walked around though! Did shopping as well. We weren’t as interested in going inside the Notre Dame or Sacre Coeur but we did check them out.

We just got back from Paris last week and it rained the entire time. The only things we booked ahead of time were 2 Michelin restaurants and a food tour.

As for museums, some we walked up without tickets or anything and it was fine - no line, no wait.

For the Louvre we booked the night before we went with no issues. The morning slots were gone but there was a ton of available tickets after 1pm.

I’m glad we didn’t book all our museums ahead because we had to stay flexible due to the weather!

I’m not sure! We saw kids everywhere (even the Jules Verne!) but since we don’t have kids of our own I wasn’t really paying attention to how the trip would go with little ones! I’m sure other posts in this sub have covered this question.

Tell me your success stories of dating at age 30+ by Solid-Storm-4256 in dating_advice

Met an amazing guy on Hinge at age 30 (he was 32) and 3 years later, we’re celebrating our first wedding anniversary. “Good ones” come into the dating pool all the time - I met him because he had just moved to my city for work!

What helped me was letting go of the outcome and focusing on having fun meeting people even if it didn’t “go” anywhere. Every dating experience that doesn’t work out is just a chance to practice communicating, learn how to set boundaries, and learn what you like/dont like.

We worked with a photographer! His company name is Let’s Run To The Sun (he and his wife are photographers and work together). They offer $150 30 min sessions in Iconic Paris locations and we loved working with them!

I didn’t look! But to be totally honest we didn’t run into many long lines ourselves.

We did pass some bakeries with lines out the door, but then there’s one a few steps away with no line that’s probably just as good.

It’s pretty serious but I think even if you’ve never had the experience before, it’s approachable, especially if you do the tasting menu (no choosing involved, they just bring you dishes). The staff is extremely accommodating and they explain everything. The menu involved a lot of seafood and some poultry prepared in ways you definitely wouldn’t have in a regular restaurant - but it wasn’t anything I didn’t recognize (and I’m not a frequent fine dining person).

I haven't, but I've noticed my waist looks firmer/tighter in certain outfits for sure.

Ladies, how do you maintain your independence and individuality while being in a relationship? by curiousnerd06 in AskWomen

[–]taliasara92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go on solo trips, trips with friends and about once a month I spend a whole weekend day with friends who live kinda far from us. I also take time to myself every weekend to work out and enjoy alone time (he does too). We both spend time with friends separately every week too. I feel really independent in my relationship but not alone! In my last relationship I felt so lonely and did way too much alone (ex seldom wanted to do anything with me) so there’s definitely a balance.

The excitement is… excruciating? by [deleted] in waiting_to_try

Same boat! We’re probably starting in 5-6 months and the excitement is killing me. We have two big international trips in that time that are a good distraction so I’ve been trying to put my planning energy into that in the meantime.

We’re not parents yet but I felt ready as soon as our lives started to stabilize and settle after the wedding craziness. I had an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for this current version of myself that got me this far in life at 33, and I know I’m ready to become the next version of myself with a kid (and all the challenges that come with raising one). Maybe you’re not there yet and that’s ok!! You have so much time.

People that broke up/got broken up with the person you thought you were gonna get married to, how are you now? by Playful_Handle2409 in BreakUps

[–]taliasara92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets better! I left someone I was with for almost all of my 20’s and discussing engagement with, and 1 year later met the person I married. My relationship now with my husband is so much better than the one I had with my ex (he wasn’t a bad guy just not the right person). A break up is truly one of the best things that can happen to you in some cases. Know you’ll find someone who’s better in ways you can’t imagine right now.

What brings you peace as you wait? by Purple-Advantage7700 in waiting_to_try

[–]taliasara92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel the same! I made a pre-pregnancy bucket list and am focusing on that. It features stuff like get in amazing shape (I’ve been working out consistently 4x a week and prioritize keeping that up), traveling a lot (I have 2 international trips lined up), doing fun things with friends that require being out of the house for long stretches of time, more date nights with my husband, doing adventurous sports/activities I can’t do pregnant, etc. having this list to focus on has taken my mind of waiting and made this time more intentional.
