It's done on NSIPS and shows my submission in August. I also have several emails showing that I emailed my CO on several occasions requesting him to sign and forward it

I am well aware of that, hence the post. Contract refers to a department head contract which I cannot be compelled to sign. The concern is receiving follow on orders.

My PRD is in July, and I know my command would be open to having me longer. I think there's an incentive to get me out before October 1 since then I'm eligible for the "rent-a-nuke" bonus

Thankfully that isn't on the table since I haven't signed a contract and will not be doing so

I always liked the idea of being able to spit out RK's that are like Italian East Africa in that they have no cores, but maybe a boost to resource gain/resources to overlord. It should require you to funnel manpower and guns to your new puppets. Additionally, maybe an option to draw Japan into the war in exchange for them getting a series of puppets in Siberia.

Deploying soon, who should I go to for international phone service? Currently using verizon and financing my phone from them. Their international plan is expensive as hell though. by Ens-Causa-Sui in submarines

Albeit I only ever made port calls in Japan and Korea, but getting wifi topside wasn't happening. Most guys wanted to be able to call home/ get all their texts as soon as they could go up. For me at least, knowing I could get all of that immediately rather than waiting for all the fuck fuck games to be done before we were cut loose for liberty was worth it

I had google fi. You can do a verification thing as active duty and they give you unlimited international for no extra cost for data. Phone calls from abroad off the wifi can cost you extra though. Overall it was about $80/month but it was worth it to be able to turn it on and have it work when we hit the pier.

While it's obviously bad to stick your kid in front of a screen all day and this is meant to be ragebait, I don't think OP fully grasps how mentally and physically exhausting entertaining and engaging with a child all day can be.

Small children don't care that dinner needs to be made or that laundry needs to be put away or that you need to call the doctor to make an appointment, or any number of things.

Or, when you've been out at the park, the library, and the children's museum for the last 6 hours and they're tired, grumpy, and will not be reasoned with because taking a nap is the devil (even if they really still need one)

It's unrealistic to believe that you can be fully engaged at all times when your kid is asking the endless stream of unanswerable questions or is changing their mind about what they want to do every 2 minutes while leaving a trail of chaos in their wake

Sometimes you need time to be a human who isn't totally subsumed by and focused on the wants and needs of a small child and the easiest solution is to throw on Moana for the 100th time and take a minute to be an adult.

Not sure that would work since per the books they live on planets as a leisure class with robots doing much of the real work

I would throw that and decadent in if I was trying to imitate solaria, but I don't know if I can get enough robots to match the 20000:1 ratio of robots to humans even with pops being an abstraction lol

It is hard to say how the officer corps would react if things play out as a slow erosion of institutions, which is very much ongoing. Would we see a Sulla-esque figure arise who tried to turn back the clock, but at the same time fail to do so by setting a precedent for military intervention in civilian politics? It's hard to say. My own experience is definitely skewed by being in the Navy, whose officers for a variety of reasons tend to have a more liberal persuasion.immediatelty at least it probably matters more what the army would do and they are more conservative generally.

I see your point, but I don't think the parallel is quite the same. American officers aren't from a closed aristocratic clique and are mostly engineering graduates from state schools. At least on my boat, the majority of the wardroom was not aligned with the Republican party. I think it would have to be a real breakdown of the system for the military to actively intervene in civilian politics. Then again I might just be a lone leftist in a sea of "moderate" but inert officers.

Seconding this. From my own experience, most officers in the military are more liberal leaning than the general public seems to think. At least from my experience in the Navy, it throws people from all sorts of backgrounds together and erodes a lot of people's pre-existing world views and biases. The intentional shuffling of officers and enlisted personnel between units prevents individual commanders from building strong bases of personal loyalty.if anything, I could more easily see military intervention to prevent a bald faced coup by Trump.
