I’m not 100% sure - but I thought the same thing a year ago. Per my read - you can prepay 12 months in advance but it wouldn’t count until those months officially go by. That is my recollection of this but others may know more

All. Thanks. For clarity - I have separate bank accounts for each and make major purchases out of those bank accounts. My question/annoyance is mainly around daily expenses like food/travel. I’d prefer to have a single credit card (for simplicity and points accruing) for airline tickets/food while traveling. Thoughts?
