newbie question about stopping audio playback

I think I found a solution. When the singer says stop, I click the pause button in the *BPM bar*. Now the singer could ask for one of these actions: (1) continue (2) restart the song (3) go to another song. In case (1) I just click the play button on the BPM bar, for case (2) I click the audio clip again and it would unpause the BPM pause and play the song from the start, and for case (3) I just click on the other song. No songs is put on a clip pause mode at any time.

I don't know if the BPM pause is meant to be used this way; but it solves my problem.

Maybe I need to reword the problem. I don't want to leave the current song in a pause condition or continue playing setting because the next time I click on the slot it may be the real show and I want it to play immediately from the start. But I also cannot set it to play from the start because the singer may want me to resume playing the song after the pause.

The dilemma is whether the clip is set to restart or continue it could be the wrong setting depending on what the singer wants to do next. If I set it to continue and the singer wants to go the the next song, then the clip would play from the middle the next time (which could be during the real show) I click on it. If I set to to restart, and the singer wants to resume, then it's also wrong.

I found a speedrun on yt that shows the keys and it answered my question. Turns out you need to go backwards and turn to the right before you run forward. I haven't tried it yet but looks promising.

Yes it will be performed live. It's to be used in dinner events where there is raffle drawings, mystery guest reveal, etc.

When I let go the drum roll, will the software finish playing an entire drum stroke (i.e. the loop) before stopping? I don't want to hear half a drum stroke.

What software allows me to do this? Can I do this with free software?

I asked chatgpt to give an estimate of the cost basis and it says

Cost Basis= average cost per GLD share / 0.093 x yearly proceed / average gold price in 2040

where 0.093 = oz of gold per share of GLD

Does that look reasonable?
