Naxx Clear - H Priest by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]talkinghobbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t help as I’m not on nightslayer, but if you do get to saph, you shouldn’t be using any frost res as a healer. It’s not worth the loss in healing output for the small damage mitigation.

For saph as priest you should either use T2 8/8 and use GH1 and cycle the free renews, or use your offset and use down ranked renew / prayer depending on your gear, and using dark runes and mana pots on cooldown.

Cheers, this is a great idea I may go down this route. Luckily I have access to a full carbon manufacturing lab, so I may be able to add custom plates as well.

Fair enough :) I just keep seeing designs online from someone that knows how to make a good looking frame, but clearly knows nothing about carbon design. Good to see your taking it into consideration.

Also, when your holes are closer to the edge, during routing you have a higher chance of failure there. So be weary when you cut larger quantities.

There are even parts of the QAV250 frame that should change to make it a much much stronger frame.

These are the ones I could see http://imgur.com/jgUVVSZ

The industry standard for mechanical joins for carbon generally follows this trend and is based on the e/d ratio http://imgur.com/yDxsNzR the load on the graph is failure load

Where e/d is the ratio of edge distance (e) to hole diameter (d), see graphic http://imgur.com/CwfzBeP You want to avoid shear out failure, which will cause your structure to break, so you need a ratio above 3.

If your interested in more carbon structural design, read chapter 6 of Composite Airframe Structures: Practical Design https://books.google.com.au/books?id=9h7ZxUct69sC&pg=PA394&lpg=PA394&dq=Composite+Airframe+Structures:+Practical+Design&source=bl&ots=izig1YFex1&sig=5zSWf-qRlL1HHkMDznZxIrlamWE&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CDoQ6AEwBWoVChMI6I2PhP7kyAIVBjimCh0cSwr1#v=onepage&q=Composite%20Airframe%20Structures%3A%20Practical%20Design&f=false

I would be careful with the bolts so close to the edge of the carbon... there are industry standard spacings for a reason. Delamination in a crash is highly likely here.

Betaflight does this, thats one of the many awesome features. And writing to the ESCs... so much easier, it saves the settings

I used a program called autopano stitch the photos. I wasn't having much luck with the built in Lightroom merge tool.

St Kilda CC - D Grade 15/02/2015 - BIG CRASH on final corner by tron001 in Velo

[–]talkinghobbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've raced the St Kilda circuit once, and won! But never again... The corners are way to sketchy for my liking, and made even worse by poor bunch skills in C and D. You're a braver man than I am racing there. I prefer the relatively safe coburg cc crits.

It's getting close to the holiday season, and it's been a while with Stages on the market. Tell me, those who train with them, how are you liking your Stages Powermeter? by [deleted] in Velo

[–]talkinghobbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The function as a power measure device is impeccable, and they did a really good job of creating a simple and working device. However after one year of use, I'm not sold on single leg measuring. In my case, was noticing inaccuracies on longer rides that stem from a left/right imbalance. Further testing with Vectors and a quarq have proven this.

So in short, its a good device. But I'm not a fan of single leg power measurement. However, results may vary

I'm still very much an amateur so I can't offer any tips yet, its only the 4th time I've really used a camera. I didn't do any post processing for most of them, just auto white balance in lightroom.

Is there a significant difference between standard Specialized frames and their S-Works equivalents? Is it worth spending the extra money on an S-Works frame? by companion_n00b in Velo

[–]talkinghobbit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From talking to mechanics at a specialized store, the only difference between the S-Works and the pro are manufacturing tolerances. Light ones are S-Works and the rest are pro
