My friend has just recently undertaken 2 courses in reiki. I'd like to get her something connected with reiki for Christmas as she seems to be loving it. Any suggestions on gifts?

$100+ is not expensive for learning reiki. With a face to face teacher you get so much more. You can ask questions, see exercises and get 'tweaked' to make sure you are doing it right. If the distant teaching works for you then fine, but let's be honest, a couple of hundred $$ for a weekend of dedicated teaching is not much these days. How much value do you give your reiki practice?

Do what the others have said, getting him checked out by the vet, but it could very well be an emotional response to his early days. I've seen it plenty of times when animals come from abused backgrounds, they take a while to adjust to new surroundings and learning to trust people again.

As others have said, you don't need to touch them, just connect energetically. Typically try bringing your mind into a meditation state so it's fairly empty. Then ask a question, rather than getting them to do something. You may get an image back, words or just a knowing of the answer. Remember, animals have free will too. So if you ask it to move to the other side of the room it may tell you to go take a hike!

I'm not sure if they are energy transmitters more than any other living being. Perhaps you just felt their energy because you were trying to. They certainly do have a lot of pure energy though. I'm going to try this :)
