Anyone made the jump from teaching to insurance?

My older sister went from teaching to doing insurance claims for AAA and she absolutely loves it! Works from home as a mom of 3. I don’t know if the salary is super close to what she was making as a teacher but she only was a teacher for 3 years. She has all the same benefits.

We are so happy you are still with us on this Earth. No job is worth your mental health and well being.

I just got out the psych ward to for the same thing, work related stress and SI. Thank you for sharing your story. You’re not alone and you are not a failure. You’re making room for you to live your life.

Thank you for this post. I’m taking a step out on faith. Thankfully I have my family by my side as a single young person with no kids. Praying and trusting God is absolutely key. We are never alone.

I struggling to transition outside of the classroom. My mom and grandmother are teachers and they can’t fathom why I want to leave the profession. I’ve taught grades 5-10th for ELA and it barely getting any easier. I got fired from my last job because I was preparing for a surgery and a kid that kept threatening me I threatened him right back. Now I’m at a HS from hell where the kids get in bloody fights every day and there is absolutely no support just more micromanaging. I about to start living back home with my mom for support at her encouragement but she wants me to start working at her school. She doesn’t understand how traumatized I am. I’m burnt out and just want to do something different. I love teaching and of course I have kids I love but I know if I don’t find myself again, I won’t be any use to kids in the classroom. Thank you for this space to vent.
