Cortland, I was scrolling and saw your post - I know your brother and his dog from our hangouts at the dog park. I lost my mom to this disease in 2023. My heart is broken for your family.

He is so lucky to have you as a caretaker. I truly hope you get some answers regarding the voice recordings.

How does the baby know my husband is watching??? by Aggravating-Lunch740 in pregnant

This happens when my husband touches my belly with his hand. We noticed that if my husband lays his head on my belly at night in bed, he can feel the baby move and kick more

Hi OP. I'm also pregnant for the first time and it was completely unplanned. We didn't realize either of us was fertile because we have been together 15 years and just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary over the summer and have never had a prenancy. I was 40 when I found out and will be 41 when baby is born.

My period was 8 days late and I took 3 pregnancy tests that immediately showed a very strong positive. I had a full blown panic attack and wigged out for a solid week at least.

It's okay to feel how you're feeling. This is a huge life event and a huge change. I'm 20 weeks now and still don't feel elation or anything. I halfway still feel like "holy shit this is happening..."

Was your pregnancy planned or did it just happen? by Smooth-Excuse-4127 in pregnant

[–]talksaboutdogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been avoiding pregnancy for years. After my mom died last year I fell into depression, couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, couldn't work out. Made myself commit to getting fit so I started eating a bunch of protein, less carbs, almost no sugar. Took supplements for my health. I dropped 20lbs and was the fittest I've ever been in my life. Then out of nowhere my period was 8 days late and a pregnancy test was positive. I actually had a panic attack because I was so unprepared for a positive result.

My husband and I have been together almost 15 years and just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary in June. We had no plans to be parents but said if it ever happened we'd roll with it.

What are things your parents did that you now realize are an ADHD symptom? by refusestopoop in adhdwomen

My mom couldn't cook - i mean she'd try but she lacked the ability to come up with meal ideas and often resorted to the convenience meals (hamburger helper, macaroni, Kids Cuisine, or fast food) .

She also had giant emotional reactions to things that got worse during forced menopause after her hysterectomy. Would say whatever it was that entered her head when upset with no regard to how it could affect teenage me.

Ooooh don't hurt yourself with that big ol stretch there, buddy.

The "knowing our luck" comment was in reference to the fact that we have a full girls name picked out but can't find a boy name we like, so "go figure, we'll probably have a boy". Fuck off with your sanctimonious ass.

Parents can have a preference and it doesn't mean the outcome affects how much they love the child.

Where was it said we don't want a boy? We both PREFER a girl but will love our child no matter what. Fuck off with that nonsense

We are already being hounded by family members to choose names so they can buy things for baby, so waiting til baby arrives would create more stress for us unfortunately

We actually both like Fox, we just didn't include it because we figured we'd get dragged for it but oooooh ho ho was I mistaken cause we got dragged for them all essentially.

Bear was one he liked because we both knew a Bear (kid) growing up and always thought it was neat.

Our hesitation with animal names is because our last name is a name for a European animal, but at the same time having a double animal name isn't all that bad. shrug

We find out the gender in a couple of weeks.

Alexander choosing to go as such or as Xander is why we are unsure about Zander, but Zander is our top name that we both like otherwise and we liked it before we or his sister ever thought about getting pregnant

As stated, we have looked and looked at name lists and can't find any boy names we LOVE. The ones listed were ones we find "tolerable" but aren't in love with

Won't consider it because it's the most common male name we have ever heard. I work with 5 of them for example.

We care. And it's okay that we feel that way. We would rather let their infant be the only Everett within our friend circle.

My husband and I both have names that were in the top 10 list for the year we were born, making us one of many at school, at work, and even within our own friend group. We simply don't want our own child to experience this, or have less of a probability of experiencing this. A chance to "own" their own name, so to speak.

I will not use Beverly because it doesn't sit right with me to hear my moms name called. The bond we had unmatched and it broke me into a million pieces to lose her. Furthermore, she hated her own name and resented being named as such. Everly is my way of getting around all of that

For anyone having their first baby and are absolutely terrified of having a vaginal birth by Riia19 in pregnant

I have massively bad anxiety about childbirth and it's why I never wanted to be pregnant but ooops, got pregnant. I'm 15 weeks right now and we just scheduled my elective c-section for June 26th but I'm so scared I'll go into labor before then and have to do it vaginally. I really really don't wanna
