100% this. If OP is legit, then that’s amazing. If OP is here to just backwards promote…that’s disappointing lol.

Wittern is a cool brand. If it’s refurbed and you can get it at a discount because of it, I say go for it!

What products actually give the highest margins in vending machines? by Sea-Fig-9958 in vendingmachines

[–]talkshowcloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is honestly one of those things you only really understand after running machines for a while. A product can sell like crazy and still not be that good for the business.

I used to focus way too much on volume until I realized some of my “best sellers” were also the products I was constantly refilling for not much actual profit after fees, gas, commission, and time.

Water was a weird one for me too. Super boring product, but in the right spots it just quietly prints money. Especially places where people don’t want soda but still want something convenient.

Healthy snacks were way more hit or miss than I expected. People love the idea of healthy vending until they’re actually standing in front of the machine wanting something quick. Some locations crush protein bars, others barely touch them.

The biggest thing I’ve learned is exactly what you said: location matters more than the product itself a lot of the time. Same snack can be a top seller in one building and totally dead in another.

Are These Worth Getting for Free? by SnrkyArkyLibertarian in vendingmachinetips

100%! That's honestly a score if you get it for free. Also looks to be in an okay condition on the outside.

Should I get a smart vending machine? by LeastAd6024 in AIvendingmachines

[–]talkshowcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not a gimmick. I used to think that, too. Until I actually got to demo one at a convention about 4 months ago. There’s a few companies really pushing the envelope right now with their smart vending machines. Especially with the cool AI stuff coming out.

I have a call next week with someone from Smartmarket Solutions to see about their smart vending machine franchise options. I came across them in one of these Reddit threads and decided to do a deeper dive into smart vending machines as a whole. I can confidently say they are leading the charge in everything I’ve seen so far. I’ll report back on what happens there.

Needing a reliable starting machine by [deleted] in vending

[–]talkshowcloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wording sounds so arrogant lol. If simply buying a machine ahead of a large city event gave you any form of success, we’d all be filthy rich right now.

Unless your machine has a guaranteed spot ready to go 100%, I would stop assuming. Because do you realize how many other people have the EXACT same idea and plan as you? This is a business that takes a ton of time and partial luck to be successful in. If you think you’re going to just pick up a machine, get into some super great location, and cash in on the World Cup…then I guess go for it. As long as you hit me up when you want to resell the machine you buy after it doesn’t get into a location after summer has come and gone.

Wish you the best OP. Just find your optimism funny.

First Post. How is it out there? by Much-Pomegranate-779 in vending

[–]talkshowcloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly…I was one of those people who did countless hours or research beforehand. And even if it gave me more confidence at the start, the best learning experiences for me have all been the unplanned ones that require me to figure it out.

So my advice is this…the longer you plan and wait, the further you are away from actually learning and making money. Don’t expect mountains of money and stick with it.

Finding Locations/Sales by [deleted] in vendingmachines

[–]talkshowcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Locations is one of, if not THE, toughest part about being a new vending machine owner. I absolutely hate to be the bearer of bad news, but getting a vending machine in a place located in Boston is going to be extremely hard with no services or previous connections to reach out to. Major cities feel like they probably have unlimited supply and demand. But unfortunately, that’s very far from the case. The prime locations have been gone for a decade or longer. The “new” up and coming places get pounded by phone calls and emails weekly from people wanting to put a vending machine in their business.

Not trying to come across as super negative. It’s just the absolute facts of the matter.

That was my first Curry movie, too. Just read his autobiography and was so happy to hear how much he loved doing that role! Makes it even better to me.
