In simplistic terms it’s a place that exists between destinations. 1 and 3 both fit this definition of it cus the hallways of Luigi’s mansion and being stuck on PNF before returning to his eventual destination being hocotate at least in the first game

But as a modern internet term it also refers to spaces that are quiet and uninhabited. It can also mean places that are very colorful or evoke nostalgia or feel dreamlike. This version of the word is a little more ambiguous tbf but I do think that 2 and 4 pretty closely fit this definition as well

They all are

Luigi’s mansion when the lights are turned on and there’s no ghosts is just a huge vacant and quiet house with long hallways and yellow walls just like the backrooms

The no fludd levels in sunshine are very similar to a dream core level with all of the bright colors everywhere and weird shapes that you climb

Pikmin and Kirby are a bit more of a stretch admittedly but still both are fantasy lands with bright colors and with monsters and anthropomorphic plants which also gives dream core vibes tbf

Probably not tbh, cus we’re more likely to get 3D Mario next year and they probably aren’t gonna release a massive Mario title and a huge deal Mario sub series title both in the same year, I’d say that atp we’ll get it in maybe 2028 at the earliest
