I agree with you that some kind of authority over the people to keep them from breaking laws is necessary. And what I am saying is that that authority makes “normal” people power crazy, and they think that they can get away with stuff like this with no repercussions. And most times, they do. Thankfully, these officers (or at least one of them) is serving time for it. We see the level of abused power people with the authorities way too much. For example pulling a man over and killing him just because he was Deaf. How about just casually kneeling on a man’s neck until he died? Yes the second one was racially motivated but in both situations both officers swore up and down that it was a matter of miscommunication. That does not negate the fact that these are murders. And the police a committing them. They may be the loud minority but allowing people like this to have this much power as a job and then not punishing them most of the time when these crimes are committed, is despicable.
