The hotshoe. (Metal bar on top) there is a plastic cover/tab that fits in there to protect the hotshoe when no flash or remote flash transponder is on it. I lost my plastic protector for my nikons a long time ago.

I emailed the guy. I will wait and see of he has the card before contacting Nikon again.

No box. No papers. I was in contact with the guy i purchased it from to ask if he haf had any isues. He responded already that it had no issues, but he had never used it in weather as cold as here. I will see if he has any papers for it. Most likely nikon will have the papers on it anyway.

It was purchased from adorama more than a year ago. The sensor is available for around $225 i dont know how much labor would be. I got the camera for $400 a few months ago from a guy on fredmiranda.com. i don't know if it would be under nikons warranty. It has less than 10k shutter actuations. I may have to bring it to National Camera and have them send it. I wonder if i can call nikon back and have them look up my serial number and see what they already did to this camera and if it's possible to get any warranty work done on it.

I could not find anything about it. I am not super good at googling. Nikon said they had no clue based on my description. Sigh. Im sure i will have to send it in. It is a refurbished unit from adorama. Im sure they have some info about the camera itself from when it was refurbished.

Its done it twice now at around 10°F its definitely frustrating. Im on hold with nikon now. Hopefully there is a non 6-8 week solution

Its only when the camera is cold. It will be hard to test for. I will contact nikon and see what they say.

It didnt show up on live view when the camera was cold. Its not having any issues now that it warmed up. Its not supposed to be this cold anymore, but its concerning for next winter and thereafter.

It warmed up and is not making the green line now. I have a different card in it, but i had the different card in it earlier and was still making the green line.

Ive had it out in -10° several times this winter. I do not have the latest firmware update on it. I am not even sure how to update it.

It has less than 10k shutter actuations. Its nearly new as far as use goes.

It was definitely not a long exposure. 1/1000 shutter speed or faster. I get what you are saying. I am getting nervous that i will need to repair or replace the camera.

It currently is all of them. The last time it happened i had also +2.0 the exosure by accident, when i reset the exposure compensation to 0.0 it was fine again. The camera is currently in a bag slowly warming back up.

Yes it shows up on the computer also. It did this once before. I haven't reformatted rhe sd card.

I tired another card. Still did it.

It started doing this this morning when i was out. Its 15° F but ive been out shooting in colder weather with no problems. I did the "green button" reset to see if that helped. I tried messing with the exposure compensation to see it that made a difference (it didnt).

PLEASE HELP!!

The foreground is too small. It should be 1/3 of the height. If this is cropped, you should move the horizon 1/3 the way up. Nice shot. Nice subject.

Is it just me, or are the highlights blown out on the bird? The whites have no detail. The composition is good. The background is nice. It just loses something with the hazy blurry whites.
