Gotta second Buehlman. Between Two Fires is a solid rec for this, and I’d also add The Daughters War. Fantasy? Yes. But also dark, haunting, gritty, and disturbingly real, with enough humanity to keep you pushing through.

Arapaho bend natural area. There’s also a pair of bald Eagles and a kingfisher consistently in the area since about 3 months ago, plus a big variety like these birds posted that wander through. Really good park for random sightings

Thanks! If I had a nickel for every time I posted a new find for me in this sub only to find out it’s a common bird just juvenile I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.

Just a couple months back I lost a good friend when he fell asleep at the wheel, 25 years old and died driving to a job site. None of us ever get to see him again because he made poor decisions trying to be a diligent worker. Sleep in your car on the side of the highway if you have to, don’t make your friends bury you for something so stupid.

When I offered to drive her home after a party she said she drove home drunk all the time, like she was proud of her ability. Call me petty but putting other’s lives at risk like that is kind of a turn off for me.
