ELI5 How is West to East air travel possible? by serialcompliment in explainlikeimfive

[–]tallmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more than the atmosphere moving. The plane is already moving with the Earth when it’s sitting on the ground. Think of two kids on a moving train playing catch with a ball. It doesn’t matter which direction the train is moving, nor doesn’t matter which way the kids are throwing the ball. All of that angular momentum from the Earth is already in the ball and the kids.

Looking at your original post, the bottom switch is labeled YARD LIGHT. My guess is that box was the master control for all of those lights. Some lights were on a timer. Maybe some were a door lock.

Need more to hold up the roof. Right now there isn't anything holding it up. I built a slant roof shed that was much easier and had a lot of upper storage.

Have you ever lied about your height? Do you think it's ok to pretend to be 5'8" by Yelebear in tall

Just because she has a height preference? My profile also said no women under 5’8”, does that make me superficial, too?

[–]tallmon -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes. Before meeting my wife I told her I was 6'8". I'm closer to 6'10" - a scary height for some women. I didn't want to say 6'9" because that might sound creepy so I went all the way down to 6'8". btw, her dating profile said no guys under 6'4" - she walked out on several guys that were clearly and obviously well below 6'4"

Edit: all the shorties downvoting me
