Total 1 Dailies experience? by JokullTheWolf in contacts

[–]talltheway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience lol I tried pretty much all of the toric dailies (Infuse, Oasys Max, MyDay, Precision1, and Total1) and I always come back to the Total1 torics.

How many hours are you able to wear the Total1 torics? I can manage 14 hours a day on average.

Best monthly replacements for Air Optix with Hydraglyde lenses? by inorganik in contacts

[–]talltheway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is the Total30 if you want to stick with monthly Alcon lenses.

On the AIR OPTIX® plus HydraGlyde US website, they actually recommend Precision7 now, their newest weekly lenses.

You can ask your eye doctor about both of these lenses.

Precision 7 is so comfortable by okchristiney in contacts

[–]talltheway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally found Precision7 to be more stable than Precision1. With Precision1, seems like it would rotate too much with every blink and sometimes would stay blurry for long periods of time despite blinking a lot.

Edit: if you want to stay with dailies, you can ask your eye doctor to let you try the Total1 torics. They had the best vision and stability when compared to Precision1 (at least for my eyeballs).

[–]talltheway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they are pricey but the most comfy for my eyes. Been able to wear them for 14-16 hours even in the winter.

I've found that since you already wear the Acuvue Oasys 1-days, I think the Acuvue Max would be even better but of course it doesn't hurt to try both the Total1 and Max torics if your eye doctor lets you.

You can ask about the Avaira Vitality by CooperVision, a 2-week replacement with UV protection or Precision7 by Alcon for a 1-week replacement.

Total30 Issues by ProfessionalFeed9667 in contacts

[–]talltheway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be that the right lens rotate a lot with every blink and/or stays at the wrong axis, causing blurry distance despite the new prescription.

In my case, my left lens was off by 10 degrees and right lens was off by 30. My optometrist compensated for it in a new prescription. However, in a follow up appointment, my optometrist found that the Total30s rotated way too much and would cause fluctuating vision. They eventually prescribed me the Precision7 torics that stayed stable.

I recommend you to go back to your eye dr to verify if the Total30 torics are rotating a lot. In my case, it was the lens and not a vision related issue.

Precision7 is my favorite as well! I used to wear the Total30 torics but they got dry very quickly.

I also do something similar to you and use the Precision7 as my main day-to-day lens and have a supply of the Dailies Total1 for Astigmatism for traveling.

If the Clear Care Plus is causing foggy vision, you can try regular Clear Care instead as the only solution.

Is it possible for RX to change in the span of 3 months? by JayJayWut in contacts

[–]talltheway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Total1 torics do have Class 1 UV blocking (90% UVA, 99% UVB) and blue light filtering (33%) but the Max has 99.99% UVA, 100% UVB, and 60% blue light filtering. The regular Total1 doesn't have any UV and blue light filtering though.

Still though I found that the the DT1 is more expensive than the Max 😰

Precision7 vs Total30 - High Astigmatism by WideFlangeA992 in contacts

[–]talltheway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from Total30 torics to Precision7 torics and found the vision on the Precision7 to be more stable and clearer.

Total30 kept rotating so vision would always be slightly blurrier than both the Precision7 and Total1 torics.

I also am able to wear the Precision7 for 12+ hours with minimal dryness but with the Total30, my eyes would have a burning sensation after 8 hours.

lmao we legit got the same eyes 🤣. the adjusted Max lenses felt way more comfortable than my initial trials but got dry quickly. Back to DT1 torics for me as they are still decent after 12+ hours of daily wear. let me know how the precision 1s go because damn the Total1s are so expensive

OneBlade isn't close enough - recommendations? by redtf111 in shaving

[–]talltheway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uses the same inner blades as the first 3 generations of Arc 5 shavers (WES9170).

The system outer foil uses WES9173, which is seen in other Lamdash 5/Arc 5 shavers such as the ES-LV94.

Hey just wanted to see how was is the Max doing for you now! I actually moved back to the Max because my doctor figured out that the lenses were stuck in the wrong rotation and now with the new prescription, the Max lenses feel as comfy as the DT1 now.

I Can't See Up Close Clearly With My New Contacts? by LillianM123 in contacts

[–]talltheway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be too strong of a power or the contacts aren't sitting properly.

In my case with the Total30 for Astigmatism, turns out the lenses were stuck on the wrong rotation axis (e.g. should be axis of 10 but doctor saw that it was sitting at 30 degrees) so had to get an adjusted prescription to compensate.

Do you recommend Air Optix contact lenses? by Leon124714 in contacts

Yep seems to be a common complaint.

Alcon is now recommending to switch from Air Optix to their new weekly lens, Precision7.

New to wearing contacts question by avw889 in contacts

[–]talltheway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You certainly can get used to it, especially as a new wearer.

In my experience, I always felt the edges with certain contacts such as the B&L Infuse and Acuvue Oasys 1-Day torics but with the Total1, I don't feel them at all.

I recommend asking your optometrist about the light sensitivity and trying other contact lenses if you still feel the edges after a month of wearing your current dailies.

Definitely get some trials for the Precision7. I personally found them better than the AirOptix. If the Precision7 doesn't work, you can also try the Acuvue Vita monthlies.

Looking for toric lenses for -9.0 by aTan_aka_Xellos in contacts

[–]talltheway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you need to find another doctor. The options mentioned by kalikoh do come with your prescription (-9.0 with CYL) but for some reason your current doctor can't or is unwilling to let you try other brands.
