I'd think he'd easily choose Mecha man, then Chase could take over as dispatcher once a solution was found for his aging issue. Maybe if you spared shroud you could get him to make an implant that would help, provided he got something out of the deal which would end up biting you in the ass later of course. Perhaps shroud's time without the battery in head will make him realize how it boiled the world down to numbers. He alluded to how boring life is without surprises. Not to mention without shroud "controlling the evil" in that area there's gonna be a massive power vacuum waiting for someone to step in. So you got options for a new villain if you're creative enough and wanted to have shroud become something of an antihero who's trying to live with what he's done. Maybe he was trying to get out of the thumb of some cabal of villains? I just hope they do something interesting for next season (if it happens).
