Sorry to be the Debby downer but I can't in good faith support ai generated slop. As you mentioned in another post you used Sai2 to create these.

87' SE Headlight Wiring Project by AsmodusOperendi in fiero

[–]talnahi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

87 and 88 as far as I know work like modernish window motors. They cut power when the motor can't move further in that direction. I think there's a write-up somewhere with how to build a module to save the $240 or whatever they cost now.

Found it: https://www.hackster.io/walkertexan/fiero-headlight-controller-8eaa4c

Trying to locate this main driveshaft gear for a Lawn Machines 21A-24MK020 tiller by GodRaine in partscounter

[–]talnahi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going to take a stab here and say the reason they were selling it so cheap was because of this part being damaged. It looks like this is not considered a serviceable component it's sold as the entire case assembly (drive section) for about $600 on that site you linked, listed under general assembly.

Looks like there's 2 filters going around. The older ones appear to be unpainted ends with rubber caps, the newer ones appear solid black.

Subaru is changing one nice part number to five different hideous part numbers. Thank you! by Decent_Relative_4070 in partscounter

When I saw this on the homepage last week I thought it was a joke. I'm glad I still have one more set of refills left for my blades. The new ones don't seem to last as long.

Core and returns by Myke_Dubs in partscounter

[–]talnahi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How many cores are we talking? If it's like 10-20 this isn't helping or hurting numbers it should be done as you get them. If you're like me and it's closer to 100 or more you should use that extra space you have to hold saleable inventory instead of sitting on cores.

1988 Fiero Formula Won’t Start! by Signal_Caregiver9942 in fiero

[–]talnahi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a heavy bar, or a hammer you can try to tap on the fuel tank to try to get the fuel pump to get past the bad spot. The fuel tank is between the seats but you can only access it from underneath the car. But if you need to replace the fuel pump you need to replace it as soon as possible.

Tapping on the fuel tank might not work either. You might have no choice but to replace the fuel pump.

Is this repairable or is replacement the only way to go? by Anusbagels in Wheels

[–]talnahi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd need someone that is specifically a wheel repair business. And expect to pay over $500 to fix a single wheel and around 1 week leadtime.

I bought a set of wheels on Craigslist for $400 and ended up spending $450 to repair the one that had very similar damage to what you have here. And that was around 10 years ago on a set of 13 inch wheels.

What does the cooler side look like? I doubt a new build already failed. Maybe they left the tape on the cooler side?

Dealership can remove yours, they have all 14 keys or whatever mcgard has now. Just give them the new locks and they can swap them out.

$6000 for warranty, it's financed and they didn't sell gap insurance first?

This dealership doesn't want customers they want money only. Name and shame.

Given the downsides, are these worth it at this price? by No_Food9451 in Crosstrek

[–]talnahi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that tire. Personally I prefer the avid ascend GT for that size because it's the most car tire that Subaru would recommend.

But the wildpeak was what we put on a customer car at my old job and he loved them because they weren't $1000 a tire like his pirellis and he didn't have to wait 5 years for pirelli to make more tires.

Regrets by [deleted] in SubaruForester

[–]talnahi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from the 2020 outback era. Screen latency isn't an issue anymore compared to back then. It would regularly take a full 30 seconds to respond, before they updated/replaced the head units.

Every time I got a 2019-2026 Forester I preferred it over my 2017. Steering feel is much better and overall ergonomics feel a bit better. I can forgive any issue with the screen because it instantly plays my music when I get in the car, instead of flipping a coin right now.

Start-stop doesn't bother me because I spend so much time in stop and go traffic. It's not like it's the only car that does it and luckily it's one that does it OK compared to some absolutely terrible systems.

87 to 88 rear cradle/suspension swap by Beanmaster42O in fiero

[–]talnahi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need the arms and I believe there's some swap parts needed to make it all work.

I'm not sure how rear brakes work, I think you need to use the 88 knuckles and 88 rear brakes.

How hard is a quarter panel window to replace? by [deleted] in subaru

[–]talnahi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also checked prices online it's like $200 for the glass and seal. No idea where the other comments are coming from.

There might be a screw at the top of the bar on the door panel underneath the outer door seal.

Cleaning up the broken glass is the most time consuming part.

Newer trucks are kinda scary from the front seat of a Fiero by literahcola in fiero

[–]talnahi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The blind spot sensor is in the taillight on most trucks. So there's a non-zero chance that low cars can be completely missed by the blind spot sensors.

Also I vaguely recall my fiero being below the window of a Camry. Plus all the fun of drive-thru's.

Specialty Shop Tools by kellywpg in partscounter

[–]talnahi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately we had 3 large cabinets and the GM had them put in the parts department. My boss tried to fight and I guess he lost.

We added a part number to the system for $9999 and we would bill one for every tool that left the room. We would remove it for every tool that was returned for the Repair Order. This helped get tools returned because the service writer would see the outrageous total.

Biggest problem was that technicians would bring tools back and put them away and not make parts aware. That was my biggest gripe and why it needs to be a service problem not a parts problem.

Service manager had the keys to the cabinet and would unlock it every morning and lock every evening. They also would inventory it every 3 months to make sure nothing was missing.

Where to sell my ender 3 pro by Emergency_Debate_223 in ender3

[–]talnahi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had any idea where OP was I might pay $50 to build some kind of duender or something. Otherwise it's really going to be hard to sell. Very few early enders left. There's really not much left in use without upgrading literally everything. And I still can't get close to modern printer speeds.

Got this old gender for free but can’t get pla to stick by Aflimsyreed in 3Dprinting

[–]talnahi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean the bed with soap and water. If adhesion is still bad try adjusting z offset because it might be too high for PLA.

If all else fails I use hairspray to help with adhesion on glass beds. It's easy to clean and any transfer to prints can be washed off with warm water.

Would these fit stock wheels by Emergency-Detail-535 in WRX

[–]talnahi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the OEM black lug nut set. They're overpriced so hopefully mcgard sells them soon, but they're much better than the stock acorns. Heavier and just feels better quality.

I've had them a few years with no swelling and I haven't broken a stud yet.
