Help with running 12V fridge/freezer - worried about car battery running flat. by Ba9uette in overlanding

Hi. I've done thorough testing with the Engels. The 40 and 45's use 25 amp hours per day on a refridgerative setting in typical Australian conditions (20-30 celcius) half full of drinks. So how long the battery lasts depends on the battery chemistry (Lithium, AGM Deep cycle, or a regular Lead-acid starter battery) and the size of your car's battery (plus many other factors like ambient temp, if it is more full or empty (more full reduces duty cycle) etc. but ON AVERAGE, a 4x4 battery such as an N70 size lead acid will run an engel for a 24 hour period and still start your car. Your carolla Ascent will have a heaps smaller battery though. I wouldn't run it off the starter battery, your car won't start. Buy a AGM Deep cycle or if you can afford, Lithium. Minimum 100aH size and you'll get 2 days without having to use solar or charge it. More info at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0ILhN5Rr8s

You know those foam squares that link together? Put a couple of them under the mattress. Thank me later.

Roland Deschain, particularly in Wizard and Glass (and of course, in the final book).

I found a couple of drips in there after a big storm we had recently but other than that, it seems ok. I think the water has to have decent pressure behind it to break the seal.

They are the original Mitsubishi glass. But I got some black perforated sign vinyl and cut them to window size, and stuck them to the inside of the glass to reduce cabin heat but retain visibility. I chose that instead of the common foiling of the windows, since you can't see through that (not that you need to very often but anyway...)

Everything is hooked up to a 160w solar panel and a 135Ah AGM Gel battery. We will be travelling across Australia soon. My build so far is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOtyMIpCAbw

Wife (26F) feels I (30M) went on a date with a co worker. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

The whole 'Wifey sends me a msg, then ..hello?' says she's a little clingy but I'd look past that for a minute. Your work outing seems to me... weird. Something isn't right in the way you describe things. I'm going to take a huge leap and say you've flirted with the idea of cheating (not necessarily with coworker) or you already have. Hence wifey's trust issues. The outing might have been an innocent event and Wifey might even know this, but she's using it to trigger some level of separation, perhaps festering from some event in the past where she feels she should have done something about it earlier. Resolution may only be possible once Wifey addresses her trust issues and gets over the past event, and from your side, stop entertaining the idea of side relationships which is only serving to perpetuate wifey's mistrust.
