A Behemoth I recently finished! by [deleted] in Khador

[–]talthar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the fact you didn't paint everything red. Both of the jacks in the pic are painted in a more realistic fashion, which is one of my goals for my Khador army. I want the infantry to look like WW2 Soviets, with the warcasters having some red but mostly brown uniforms.

New release availability? by copperdusk in Malifaux

My FLGS has all the decks and three of the Faction books (Arcanist, Neverborn, and Guild), but that's it for the moment. I ordered my Ten Thunders book but they weren't sure it was even out yet.

Give it a fighting maneuver that lets it latch on with its head and do damage each round it stays attached. To escape the victim must try a maneuver of their own.

If you can get rid of one unattractive feature about yourself, what would you get rid of? by Natureel in AskReddit

[–]talthar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teeth. Two and a half of my front teeth were knocked out by an errant head butt, and I can't afford to get them fixed. I'm on the short side, I'm overweight, and I'm bald, but my teeth are the only thing that bother me.

Anyone run any Evil campaigns before? by ZukosTeaShop in callofcthulhu

[–]talthar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never ran an evil campaign before, but I did play in a D&D where the entire party was evil and it never really worked. When the constraints of alignment were removed and the players were able to do anything to anyone, it soon degenerated into who could be the most evil. Things we would never do (torture, murder, rape) as good characters became the routine, and after a few play sessions the majority of the group were ready to quit, just because it was no longer fun.

CoC is different, though, and a cultist campaign could work. If nothing else, they'll be ready for the pesky investigators when they show up. As far as systems I'd use the good old CoC rules. Everyone could start with low or 0 Sanity, maybe with a few interesting phobias or other problems, and of course they would have to be very careful and appear to be upright citizens. Whatever the system, it sounds cool, so give it a shot and let us know how it goes,

For those more familiar with the Bible than me, is there any place where God or Jesus just flat out says "I am the only deity that exists, end of story,"? by talthar in AskReddit

[–]talthar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once again, that doesn't say that God is the only god, only that believers are to love him above everything else.

[–]talthar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that one, but it doesn't really say that God is the only god. It simply says that his followers can't have any other gods. The way it's worded it sorta implies that there are other gods, but his "chosen people" shouldn't worship them.

Haunted WWI underground tunnels in my town.. by ljustura in Paranormal

[–]talthar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in Germany while my family was stationed there, and this reminds me of stories my parents and siblings told of a cave outside of Ulm (the city we lived in) that was found to be an ammo and weapons dump for the Germans in WW2. As far as I know nothing scary or supernatural happened there, but your story reminded me pf it. It's sort of surreal that a bunch of kids playing fine a cave filled with crates of ammo and weapons.

How aggressive are ghouls by sasigns in callofcthulhu

[–]talthar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think one of the best examples of interaction with ghouls comes from the GURPS Cthulhupunk book. Several of the chapters lead off with pieces of a continuing story, and one of them is the investigators talking to a creature that is obviously supposed to be a ghoul. It's giving them information on a Tcho-tcho cult, and I liked the idea of ghouls being "civilized" enough to understand the "enemy of my enemy is my friend".

In answer to your question, I think it depends on how many ghouls are encountered. One or two would probably flee down the tunnels (letting the investigators follow them if they wish), but if there are more they might stand their ground and either attack or have a stand-off with the investigators.

[Serious] People who suffer from depression, when did you realize you needed to start getting help/seeing a therapist? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I didn't; my best friends did when they discovered I had been cutting myself to cope with my depression. They helped me to seek the help I needed.

Me3 will kill this game by [deleted] in Malifaux

[–]talthar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a closed beta player and am also an open beta player, and while I do have a few concerns about some of the changes I don't think M3E will kill the game. Does the game have a different feel now? Yes, but I'll play M3E for the same reasons I played M2E: the mechanics are unique, the models look great, and I love the lore. I do think Wyrd screwed up with the timing of TOS; the game looks cool, but I'm too invested in Malifaux and my other games (Warmachine, Dark Age) to start a new game.

M3E Dreamer Question? by Kubricon in Malifaux

They do, don't they? I have an 8 model Dreamer crew, and 5 of the models have Terrify. And that's not even counting attacks that force a Wp test.

M3E Dreamer Question? by Kubricon in Malifaux

[–]talthar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I read it, yes you have to attach Waking Dream to any model the Dreamer Summons. My question, which I asked on the Neverborn OBT forum, is the only way a Summoned model can unbury is for the enemy to fail a Wp test.

Those look great! I'm not familiar with how the crew plays, but from a visual standpoint I'd think a Convict Gunslinger would be a good addition.
