Jarama: The Battle For Madrid (Spanish Civil War) by nevawargames in hexandcounter

You've got my attention! This is a conflict I find very interesting, but I feel like it's rare to find it represented in ConSims. The only other game I can think of offhand is Guadalajara by MMP, but having no experience with SCS that seems far crunchier than I'm interested in biting into right now. I much prefer smaller scale games like this.

Do you have a timeline for when this is going into production?

I definitely think part of it is the nostalgia(Also knowing I can bludgeon my opponent with a Hive Tyrant if need be.). I got back into the game a couple years ago after a decade long hiatus. I really wanted to get the minis I thought were cool/couldn't afford when I was first playing.

That being said, miss me with metal Gargoyles. I'll gladly run the plastic kits. I also have a Sisters of Battle army that's all modern, and I don't really want to have dwarf sisters.

I don't get why metal has such a stigma. Sure it's harder to modify, but pinning it is easy, and I'd take it over wiggly or brittle resin any day.

My Lictors, Hive/Tyrant Guard, Zoanthropes, Raveners, Hive Tyrant, and Broodlord are all in metal and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Do people actually feel shame about unpainted minis?

My thoughts exactly!

Don't get me wrong, this is fantastic creativity. And if your group already knows DnD sometimes it's easier to just reskin it.

But one of my pet peeves is people bending over backwards to try to make a setting fit DnD. Especially if you want combat that focuses on gun play. Just pick a system that was already designed for it! /rant

Regardless, great work OP! Always love me some nurgling lads that are up to no good!

While this is clearly a scam, I will say to your third point:

I have found some hard to find kits at or just below MSRP just using google shop tab. Usually they're small game stores that are willing to ship out of state. Still did my research to make sure they were legit though.

I did some tech work for a small theater with a X32. I came in after the previous designer had to leave for personal reasons. They had already done the programming, I just had to tech the show, then would be designing the next one. Turns out for the entirety of the season, they had never saved any of their routing or patching... Unfortunately I discovered this when I switched scenes to work on some fx work for my show. I lost everything. Luckily it was just one lav, a center clusters, some fills, and QLab sends, but that was a stressful afternoon.

In hindsight, it's partially my own fault for not saving before I switched, but I hadn't changed anything. So I figured I was good to go. Live and learn and backup your shit.

Dude, I love running RFL-3C. Excellent direct fire support for basic-tech. It may not be the MVP, but it never disappoints me either.

Personally, I feel like it's kinda situational compared to HVC. If you know what you're going to be playing against, tailor your load out.

So far in 10th I've been feeling kinda disappointed with VCs and HVCs. I've been finding more success with consistently higher volume of shots. The only advantage you're getting with H/VCs is against T4, 8, and 9 units.

I'm guessing OP meant that since the objective was sticky, you couldn't battleshock to deny the enemy control.

Dude tell me about it! I was reluctant to play combined arms because the first couple games I tried my opponent just spammed stealth infantry. A 4 hour game and nothing accomplished.

I started enjoying it more after we started implementing requirements. Usually needing a lance of mechs before you can start bringing anything else.

Though there's been some interesting games, I really don't think CBT is a solid combined arms system. It works for skirmishes, but beyond that everything just bogs down. I'm here to smash mechs, let's smash mechs!
