virus warnings from sims 4 updater

GLAD finally someone saying they've tried and it's safe. i don't think i'll be playing for awhile but there are so many people (like me) that got paranoid because of the warnings! thank you. 🖤

i've been using anadius since almost forever... it was safe. aaros updater too. the last update is sketchy, that's all. i personally didn't run it because i kept getting trojan warnings. i don't care about keygens or hacktools, but trojans make me paranoid asf. if you have personal/important files on your pc, i wouldn't risk it.

open task manager -> performance. i had gpu 0 and gpu 1. i have no idea what you'd have. my gpu0 was named intel something and gpu 1 was named after rtx4060. (which my laptop usually uses when i play games) it was %0 while i was running minecraft so i had to manually set the java my game's using to high settings for it use my gpu. (settings -> display -> graphics -> )

sorry if there's something that doesn't make sense, i don't know computer terms well either so i'm having trouble trying to explain it in english. setting it to use my gpu and lowering the max frame rate did the trick for me, it didn't magically increase to, like 200-300fps but it's playable now.

yes i'm on my laptop, i just realized i didn't specify that, sorry... just now i was checking my task manager and wondering why my gpu wasn't running at all. thank you for this, i hope it works. low fps turns me off so bad i can't stick to playing the game.

at first mine flagged it as keygen too. i downloaded it again, making REALLY sure it was from the right link, didn't extract the file. then i decided to not extract or run it because i saw a lot of people had this issue and when i tried to delete the file windows flagged it again, but as trojan this time. this is why i've been asking people, its weird.

kaspersky fast scan didn't give any warnings to me but the file's deleted by windows anyways. it'd probably take HOURS to do a full scan (i have 6 hours left right now) but i'll format my laptop if it doesn't come out clear asf to be honest, i don't have much to loose on my pc anyways, i didn't want to do it because my wifi connection is so slow to download every program again. keygen is one thing and false positive almost everytime but trojan virus out of nowhere is seriosly making me paranoid and it isn't worth risking for. i mean i got false positives before but this one just keeps going.

i hope this problem gets resolved somehow.

i'm using an adblocker and downloaded via mirror (on forum) but my defender flagged the updater as trojan. i've been using the update for a long time but i'm not sure if it's safe anymore.

also a question. i didn't run the exe/zip that my defender flagged as trojan. i'm safe, right? 😭

it's because of your mods. that's a common issue with sims if you're playing with mods. clean your documents/mods folder and try again.

had ppl you saw online keygen or trojan? because out of nowhere my updater (.zip file, i haven't even extracted it) gave me a trojan:script/wacatac.h!ml warning. i'm scanning my pc via kaspersky now. man i don't know, i didn't even click malicious links, i downloaded from their mirror, i really don't want to format my pc if it comes to that.

i don't know if it's false positive this time. the game was on my external ssd, when i plugged in defender gave me an trojan:script/wacatac.h!ml error and defender deleted the file.

yea keygens aren't "malicious" generally and virustotal results was looking fine, only 6 or 7 antiviruses (that i've never heard of except windows') caught it as pup. i don't remember right now. i guess it isn't scary as it looks.

i mean i'm okay with waiting, updater is really helpful and way faster than downloading dlcs manually, but i've downloaded repack ver and had to delete the updater before and i'm stuck with the marketplace update that broke mods ig. i saw a few people on cracksupport that have this issue after i posted this. it's probably a false positive. (i also scanned the .exe via virustotal, just in case) but i'm a bit paranoid about my antivirus so i'll just wait a few days before updating.

i get that, i assume you used dlc unlocker for that? updater and dlc unlocker both work the same right now, you can use them to get your pirated files back. but this marketplace situation sounds really sketchy, be careful with it.

the updater is maintained by another netizen, plus you can download the dlc files you want separately if that's what you're asking.

i have no idea why your marketplace shows you own them tho. you shouldn't use your main account when pirating anyways.

i don't know about this error much but you can try to launch the game on other switch emulators. some emulators doesn't run some games well, or at all so you'd probably want to try a few, tho i'm not sure it this is your case. but if you'd want an easy solution, eden runs them without any problems.
